Raul Julia: The best Gomez Addams

a fact

By Revista Miko:XCI Published 3 days ago • 3 min read

Raul Julia was and is the best actor to have ever played the role of Gomez Addams. He played Gomez for the Addams family movie released in 1991 and also the follow up to the motion picture Addams family values. I think it was made in 1992 but released 1993 if I’m getting this accurately. Raul, Julia playing Gomez Adams. He brought a maturity to the role as well as a sensuality if I can go that far as to say that. You see in the year following Raul Julia there had been other Latin Luis Guzman for instance, he played Gomez in a recent motion picture, but he played it the way the guy whose name escapes me at the moment, played it in the sitcom in the 60s and please forgive me. I don’t remember who the gentleman’s name is in the iconic sitcom. I am writing this article again because the last article I wrote I erased for whatever reason that’s my you know that was my prom anyway so as far as the best Gomez Addams hands-down Raul, Julia is the winner. Also, when they were casting for the other characters in the two motion pictures, they did a great job in choosing Angelica, Houston or Houston. I’m so sorry about the my pronunciation of her name. Let me just spell it HUSTON she did a wonderful job as Morticia Addams as well. Her role was a compliment to Raul as well. And that goes double for their children, some actor who had only been an actor named Jimmy workman played Pugsley in both movies, Christina Ricci played Wednesday, and Christopher Lloyd played the lovable fester in both motion pictures too anyway the point of why I’m saying this is because in the those two motion pictures the casting was simply impeccable. Well done.

Another favorite actor of mine the late great Tim Curry was casted as Gomez Adams in a made for TV movie like years later Addams, family family reunion which I’m just glad that people when they Gomez Adams they make great decisions. For instance, they had Raul Julia in the those two movies in the early 90s and And years later they put Tim Curry in so whoever casts Gomez Adams does a great job. Now both gentlemen brought uniqueness to their role as Gomez Adams and you see what happened. What I think happen was every other actor who does Gomez Adam tries to do it the way that the guy who played him in the sitcom did it that that’s where some actors fall short but not Raul and Tim. They brought their own uniqueness to the role and that’s fantastic. My hats off and rest in peace gentleman well done as I say.

They had MC Hammer do the Addams family groove theme song and what was awesome about that. I mean everything was awesome about that but what made it even more delicious and awesome is that the fact that in the music video for Adam’s groove Raul Julia was actually in the music video not just as you know when they splice the music video footage in with footage from the movie. No, he actually had a cameo in the music video which is pretty pretty awesome I’d say. And after For the last movie, they had the tag team who was basically known for their song won’t there it is do a takeoff of that song called Addams family so that I just wanted to mention that that I also found that pretty cool too. Fin!
