fiction
Horror fiction that delivers on its promise to scare, startle, frighten and unsettle. These stories are fake, but the shivers down your spine won't be.
Carrie the series
Sorry for the photo, I asked for Carrie and got cats, this is their idea of telekinesis. My first thought when I saw an advert for this series was simply, why? Was it lazy or bravely creative? I forced my self through 2 episodes , then I will rely on what my wife has told me about it. I think going forward you will see the same problem we had with the Bohemian Rhapsody film. I knew the Queen story and new the film was more fiction than fact, She didn't know the history so loved the film.

The Big and Little End
Dougie was rumaging through some of the ancient technology he found in the attic of his grandpa's house. He had found an old-school tape recorder and his gramps had saved double A batteries. At age ten, nothing is more exciting than figuring out how energy is stored in a battery and can change to mechanical energy. However, Dougie did not expect to hear the words on the tape within the recorder. It was labelled with a script he had seen in the past. He had been told it was cursive writing, but that had been eliminated for years now. It reminded me of a picture with writing on the back that his mom had told him was a birthday card. Paper had become an artifact and most had been eaten or worn out. This tape looked like a golden thread and he was curious about what it did. He figured out how to turn on the machine and heard the story within.

Roaming Dead, Roaming Undead. Top Story - October 2026.
“More dangerous than the undead roaming is the live one watching. Flower Mound Station out.” Heather dropped her box of supplies and the canned goods clattered all over the basement floor. The metallic clanging echoed sharply off the musty, sludge-covered walls. She dropped to her knees to pick everything up and Sherry rushed to her side, attempting to help.

Selected. Content Warning.
Ashley and Jane settled into the Airbnb, then put together a plate of nibbles: Edgefield peaches, some brie, almonds, and crackers. Ashley made them her variation on an Aperol spritz, mixing it with Fresca instead of club soda. They sat down and both checked their phones, sending messages to their husbands that they had arrived safely. They each had a notification from Airbnb, instructing them to turn on the television to channel three.

The Automatic Teller
I resented my strange uncle, Hank, for being such a cliche. It's a threadbare trope, isn't it? The eccentric brother your father moved away and married to avoid? The slightly creepy weirdo who makes people uncomfortable at dinner? The one who spoiled that funeral by telling a bizarrely graphic joke?

A Woman Scorned
What a day! Three news conferences, a dozen news stories, and anchoring another dozen newscasts. All in twelve hours. Talk about freaking tired! Not to mention, one dead phone. I neglected to pull my brand-new iPhone 18 Pro from my back pocket before I took care of business in the ladies' room. You guessed it. It’s toast. Soggy toast at that.
