The Fog
There was a knock at the door. I look at my alarm clock on my nightstand and the time says 1:30 AM. I grab my pants and my sweatshirt and throw them on my cold body. I’m thinking to myself “this better be an emergency.” I look out the window next to the door and see three teenagers standing out front. I go to turn my light on, but it won’t work. Hmm that’s strange I think to myself. I go to open the front door, but all the hairs on my body stand up and my inner voice begins screaming not to open that door. Against my better judgment, I decide to address the kids at the front door. Now, I live in the middle of nowhere, my closest neighbors are 15 miles away so nobody would here my cry for help if this interaction didn’t go well. I’m sweating as I go to say hello. These kids seemed off, they were dressed funny—like they were out of the 1920s. They had jet black hair and I could have sworn they had pure black eyes. They were maybe 15, no older then 17 years old. “Hello,” I say, trying to keep my voice strong and still.

Reed Alexander's Horror Review of 'Mom and Dad' (2017)
JESUS FUCKING CHRIST! Could they have made the teenage protagonist any more of a sanctimonious bitch? Is this really how teenage girls behave? I mean, I get rebellion. I get not jiving with your parents. Hell, I even understand needing to grow apart and get space. But this girl is just down right cruel. The shit she gets away with saying to her mother would have gotten my head knocked around like a bocce ball when I was her age. This girl and her friend smack of the mean popular girls that picked on kids in my high school. I had a strict policy of never hitting women, so I just made friends with bigger meaner girls and had them as a personal hit squad when the popular girls fucked with people. Needless to say, we didn't really have a lot of mean girls in my high school after that, so I'm not very familiar with the behavior. Are they really this awful?

Reed Alexander's Horror Review of 'The Hallow (2015)'
Eh, there was a lot about this movie I actually liked but I'm not sure I can call it good horror or give it a pass. It was a lot like Hybrid, in that they tried to shoehorn too much into a fairly simple concept. They tried to go with a "scientifically plausible" explanation for fairies while still trying to stick with the lore. I can appreciate the attempt and it's not like they went full "Scooby-Doo Effect" on the movie. I don't know, they didn't really need to put in all the unnecessary effort. Sometimes doing too much can sort of throw off the pace of the movie. Do we really need an explanation for how the fairies work? It came off as very "telly" as appose to "showy." Aren’t evil fairies enough? Do they need to be plausible?

Neighbours (Part 6)
7 AM I wake up feeling an overwhelming sense of dread, which I cannot escape and I'm rather exacerbated by the fact that I have to go to work just like any other mundane person must. Why is it an obligation? A devotion? It should be the other way around. My company should be committed to my persona and my ideas. They should beg for me to come up with new ways to establish their footprint in this complicated and complex world. Yet they don't. Only Roy makes me feel as though I am something much more intrinsic to this society than just for my organisational skills or punctuality. He makes me feel special and different, like my whole self is being accepted by this stranger who oversees me from his window. Every day.
