An Encounter With Tata Duende
It was a late evening playing outside on the farm waiting for dusk to come in. I was just a nine year old boy entertaining myself playing marbles on a patch of dirt I had found on the land. By this time I had played with my brothers and now playing by myself as I was obsessed with the nature of the game. All of a sudden a strange little kid appeared in front of me and asked if he could play. I looked around and was shocked that I could not see him approaching as I was stationed in an open area on the farm. I didn't linger on the issue and accepted the kid's request as I proceeded to lay out the rules of my game. He did not have any marbles of his own so I was disappointed that I would not be able to play for keeps. Nevertheless, I shared mine with him and the games commenced.

Candyman: A Horror Film That Haunts Us Decades Later
We've all seen the formula at work. A few college students go somewhere they shouldn't, ignoring the warnings and rumors of a deadly killer. The killer is a deformed hulk, showcasing clearly supernatural powers. One by one he picks off the other cast members, until it's only the girl he's focused on (which just so happens to be the pretty blonde one). In the end she seems to defeat him, taking away his weapon and claiming that power for her own.

'The Shining' - Unfaithfulness Can Be Perfect. Third Place in Slasher Classics Challenge.
A few weeks ago, I basically gave my history with the horror genre, showing how my interest grew from creepy comedies like Ghostbusters to true nightmare fuel like The Devil's Advocate. However, in that collection of classics and enjoyable schlock, one film is the most important in my horror fan development and still ranks as my favorite pure horror film of all time. (I have to stress "pure" since, if horror comedies are included, Gremlins would be #1.) That is the 1980 masterpiece The Shining.

Quarantined Halloween 2020
I'm a huge Halloween lover. Since I became a teacher, I always dressed up for my students for Halloween. I went to university dressed in Halloween attire and it really had nothing to do with the cliché 'death and gore' of it all. It was because it gave me a reason to dress up and where wigs, to make people laugh at my funny costumes and actually have a reason to do so. I mean once, I think I went to university dressed as Lestat from "Interview with the Vampire" and the very next year I went as Kiriyama from "Battle Royale" so you can tell how informed I am about the season.

Cold Being
One day I was with my cousins at our grandma’s house. It was around 8 pm and all of us cousins were in the upstairs living room. We all gathered around on the couches near the T.V, watching Spongebob. I then had this sudden need, this sudden urge, to go into the first bedroom to the left and just watch T.V by myself. I get on the bed, I start getting comfy and I turn on the T.V. After a few minutes of watching my brother walks in and asks me what I was doing. “I don’t know, I just felt like watching alone in here.” I said. He laughed off my remark as if I didn’t mean it. Between the bed and the T.V on the dresser, there is minimal space. Only one person could squeeze by and not fast as the room was tiny anyway. He walks between the gap to the left side of the bed and I get up and walk past the gap too. I come to a sudden stop and was abruptly greeted with a cold gust of wind as if someone ran past me, but no one could, the space was too narrow. In the middle of the bed and the T.V I asked my brother, “Did you feel that cold wind?” To my surprise, he said “No. What wind?” The AC wasn’t on, it didn’t even turn on and it hadn’t been on. My third eldest cousin walks into the room asking us what we were doing. “Did you feel the cold gust of wind?” I asked her while looking at her. “No. What wind?” she asked me, confused. I shake it off and I tell them what I had experienced and they just tell me I was making stuff up and it was a joke. Ever since that day, when I would walk into that bedroom and it would be colder than an igloo. I always ask my cousins if the room is cold to them and they reply with “No, it’s quite warm in here, just like the other rooms.” I think something tried to call me in there and is now telling me to stay out. Did I do something wrong? Did my brother and cousin ruin the mood for this ‘being’? Who knows, but that room feels dead to me and it scares me sometimes.

Boots in the Basement
I want to say first off that I tend not to remember alot from my childhood. I find that as I have gotten older, my fondest memories wittle away like the sea erodes the shoreline. However, there is one story that always pops up, one memory that I cant seem to shake.

How to tell if a ghost is around
When it comes to ghost being around we know the basics. I'm here to confirm what we know and maybe add to the knowledge. We all know the major signs that a ghost is around. If things move by themselves you know that there's a ghost or spirit around. I'm not just talking about movement like a glass sliding off the table I'm talking about the cup being in a different spot then you where you left it. Spirits and ghosts are well know for moving things. Things may also disappear. People think that that's all the ghost can do. People are of course wrong.

The Halloween Costume I Remember When I Was A kid.
I had very fond memories of Halloween when I was a kid. In some ways when I think back to those days they're fond memories because I remember the good times I had with my late mom. She was the one that used to come out with me and my brother to go trick or treating. I always remember how fun I used to have when I was a kid back then.

A RIVER OF LOVE
The rain swirled about him, but he hardly noticed, as he moved through the night with an effortless kind of grace. It seemed he would be the same, if it were a bright sun shiney day. People passing saw him, yet, didn't see him at all. It was a gift he had, being seen yet not, but his presence was always felt. Should he enter a room, heads would turn and people would marvel at his countenance, his height, his dark skin, his handsomeness and the way he moved. There was sensuality about him in his every move, yet if asked a moment later, each person would have described him differently. Some would feel a moment of sheer terror and not know why nor the source of that fear.

A Mother's worst nitemare
Starting off with my back story. I'm married with a happy little family of one step-daughter and three sons. I don't call her step-daughter because I have been there since she was 2 yrs old so in these stories she will be just daughter. Lately I have been having very vivid nightmares' all including my children in ways a mother would not like to see her babies. The stories might not add up because there isn't really good transitioning cause the stories are from different days about different times. I hope you enjoy these creepy stories because they did creep me out that I couldn't go to sleep until I made sure my kids were fine and everything was alright.
