A Nightmare On Elm Street Directed by Wes Craven is the best slasher film of all time because it gave us Freddy Krueger, Tina, and Nancy. Also a bunch of human emotions like being afraid, laughing so hard, and just loving the hell out of it. These three characters I mentioned are the most iconic characters who are apart of the franchise.

Why Scream Is The Best Horror Movie of All Time
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G3lSvJ5RXKA One of the best classic horror films and my personal favorite is Wes Craven's Scream. The original movie was made 1996 during the time people were familiar with many other slasher films. Not only does this film have a good plot it shares some of the most memorable characters. Every Halloween I watch this movie just for more chills every time I see it. The main character Sydney Prescott, played by Neve Campbell; is being terrorized by a masked serial killer killing her friends one by one. Wes Craven gives up one of his best opening scenes with Actor Drew Berrymore playing Casey Becker. The opening scene that caused everyone to be afraid of answering their phones for a long time. Personally I was always terrified of being home alone and making popcorn after watching this film for the first time. As people start to be murdered we are introduced to the masked killer himself called Ghost Face. We are also introduced to the characters and the protagonist Sydney Prescott. Wes Craven also gave us the idea that Sydney has a dark past and is making an effort to live as a normal teen girl. Her and her friends are completely aware a serial killer is targeting them as their friend they knew was murdered. The police and news reporters are questioning if it has something to do with Sydney even though the audience can tell she is distressed from the killer.

One genre of horror that has often been more entertaining than scary is that of the slasher variety. They all follow the same principle of providing strong moral lessons to junior assholes. We are meant to sympathise not with victim's but with the hideous blood drenched killer.

It wasn't too long after visiting Johnathan, I headed towards the library while I still had daylight. I was glad to see the library was still open. Then again, I'm sure it closed at 6pm and it was only 1pm. So, I had my work ahead of me. Going inside I came up to the front desk where a middle-aged woman sat reading the newspaper. She wore glasses that rested on her nose with a chain around her neck in case they fell.

It is a horror flick with streaks of comedy, the majority of humor stemming from Ricky and his girlfriend Lucy (Isabela Valotti, 5150).

The Origins of Halloween
The origins of Halloween are ancient, though the time of origin is uncertain. Halloween is thought to have originated around the time the Celts split from the Romans around A.D. 325. The Celts worshiped the Goddess of the dead, who they thought had walked the earth as a human after her human body had died. The druids of ancient Ireland celebrated the end of harvest by celebrating her returning to heaven by the "sowing of the skulls," re-enacting the fertility and resurrection of nature at the new season, which may explain why skulls are so prominently featured in modern-day Halloween. All this new life from their crops that would be forever ruined. So they stuffed the skulls full of corn on the cob, popped their eyeballs, and twisted the corn kernels onto their points to form the familiar jack-o'-lantern symbol.

The Evil Dead
It took me a very long time to consider which movie out of all my favorites to write about, but after some thought and a commercial from the amc channel, I had an epiphany to write about one of my favorite horror classics the Evil Dead. I know, cliché right? But the movie carries a lot of sentimental value to me, I still remember the very first time I watched the original when I was a little girl. It gave me nightmares for days! My mother used to have the VHS tape of it and one day I remember popping it in out of curiosity. My mom started my love for horror young, we used to stay up late at night and watched something scary on the SCI-FI channel or something we would pick out on redbox together for Halloween. It was our way of bonding. She had a box of old VHS tapes circa de 2005, 2006. (Sailor moon, Pokémon to name a few!) including my now top five favorites, the Evil Dead. I could never get past a certain scene, the part where Ash was standing near a window and the witch came in and stabbed him in the ankle with a pencil, I would always turn off the tv and run to my room shaking! I felt as if the witch were coming to get me next and snatch me out of my bedroom. I stayed awake watching the darkness of my bedroom for hours until I passed out from exhaustion. Sometimes I would try to rewatch it all the way through but I never could, until I got older. It gave me chilling nightmares for years! I will always remember the witch’s horrible tormented face.But then that’s the fun and the joy of horror movies, the fear, the anxiety, the adrenaline rush, the feeling of not knowing what’s going to happen next, the plot twists and turns, the horrible, demonic evil looking people and creatures along with the blood and gore of course! So as you can imagine I was delighted to learn of an Evil Dead remake, I made it my priority to watch it as soon as I could. My sister and I went to the AMC theater to watch it as soon as it came out. I love horror movies, but I can be a huge baby when I see a really scary one for the first time and I’ll watch it through half shut eyes the entire time! So I only remember the second time watching it. The second time was one of my favorite memories because I remember inviting my best friend over to watch it with me gushing about it to her telling her how great it was! So one day after school, her my sister and I all watched the movie together. It was the best, even better than the first time I watched because I could see things from a different perspective, notice the things I didn’t see before the first time I watched. By the end of the movie we all had our favorite scenes and lines that made us laugh or scared us the most. One of our favorite insider jokes stems from a scene where the demon traps the main character’s girlfriend in the trap door and to this day we’ll all randomly say “HE’S NOT GOING TO LET YOU LEAVE!”. And we’ll all giggle in secrecy. But more than anything I enjoyed just the pure violence throughout the movie, I loved how the producer made me feel as if I were the one being bludgeoned to death! The part that really made my teeth grind and my palms sweat was when Ash’s best friend Eric was being tortured to death by Ash’s now zombified girlfriend Natalie. He was shot several times with a nail gun in his hand and hit with a crow bar a couple of times and I swear I felt every blow. To this day I still can’t watch that scene without turning my head or watching through closed eyes. My third favorite scenes was when Mia fought the Devil. My god I could feel when the rusty blade ran through her thigh as he stabbed through the wall trying to kill her. I felt her fear and panic as she tried to escape, I was never more terrified, especially the part where she had to rip off her own hand getting stuck under the car, it made me root for Mia even more. Because who wants Satan to actually rise up and ruin life as we know it? The Evil Dead will forever have a special place in my heart.

A Filmmaker's Review: "I See You" (2019)
“I See You” (2019) is a thriller starring Helen Hunt who cheats on her detective husband whilst he is in the midst of investigating why young boys are going missing in the area. They have a son that they are terrified for after they find him tied up in a bathtub. They also have some weird shit happening in their house that they can’t figure out and the audience blame on supernatural events, even after the mother sees the face of a demonic frog resting underneath her son’s bed whilst he is going to sleep. This film has the biggest twist that when you really think about it makes perfect sense, but it never gives you the ‘why’ and so, it lost a couple of marks. It also never tells you why this guy who is stealing away these young boys is first of all caught and then not caught. You start to wonder about certain holes in the storyline and the film does its best to start tying up everything from about the second or third act.
