"Come Play" review by an actually autistic person
WARNING! MILD SPOILERS AHEAD! I'm autistic and I absolutely love horror movies. Ever since my dad made the mistake of showing me Frankenstein at the age of eight, I've been obsessed with the genre. I don't have a favorite sub-genre, so I'm down for anything. Earlier this week, I showed my autistic friend (let's just call him Bud) a trailer for a horror movie called Come Play, and he asked if I was willing to drive forty minutes to his hometown to watch it. The last movie I saw in theatres was Birds of Prey back in February, so it was worth the forty minute drive just to sit in front of the big screen again.

The Box
She had locked herself away in a box for years. It had become a place of comfort; A place where she hid herself from anything and everything that frightened her. What she didn’t realize however, was that she wasn’t alone in this box. What accompanied her was far more terrifying than anything she had encountered out there in the real world. She became haunted by her own demons; self-doubt, insecurity and fear. Together they wallowed in the darkness. She became numb. She became paralyzed. She couldn’t take it anymore. How could she escape this torture chamber in her mind? She realized there was only one way out. She had to face her fears and all of her demons. She had to embrace who she was at her core.

Get Out (2017)
In this article, we will be looking at 2019’s book “1001 Movies to See Before You Die” and going through each film in a random order that I have chosen. We will be looking at what constitutes this film to be on the list and whether I think this film deserves to be here at all. I want to make perfectly clear that I won’t be revealing details from this book such as analyses by film reporters who have written about the film in question, so if you want the book itself you’ll have to buy it. But I will be covering the book’s suggestions on which films should be your top priority. I wouldn’t doubt for a second that everyone reading this article has probably watched many of these movies anyway. But we are just here to have a bit of fun. We’re going to not just look at whether it should be on this list but we’re also going to look at why the film has such a legacy at all. Remember, this is the 2019 version of the book and so, films like “Joker” will not be featured in this book and any film that came out in 2020 (and if we get there, in 2021). Henry inherited the house on Derwen Avenue from his mother, or rather, his mother had been unable to sell it to pay for her care so it had lay undisturbed for years, whilst his mother had whiled away her twilight years in the best care home that Henry could afford. It wasn't a bad house, no bad things had happened there, but there was something about the place, some feeling, that had prevented it from being sold.

The sun beamed through the windows as bold as the times were. Sixteen and high-spirited, bestfriends Cindy and Mandy hung-out on Cindy’s bed talking about the normal stuff...you know... boys, fashion and seeing how they could possibly sneak out to go to the rave at Dave’s house that weekend. In the middle of their rebel plans, the phone rang. Cindy answered and knew right away she would mentally be pulled into that place. Once she heard the voice, she stared at the corner of the bed like all time had stopped. Frozen. She glanced over at Mandy and with deep hesitation passed the phone and asked, “Does this sound sexual to you?”

Norma
As a lover of Halloween, I wouldn't be true to my love if I hadn't been an actor in the haunted houses that the masses flock to every October. My love of Halloween started at a young age although really I can only remember it from being school aged outside in the dark in a costume. I recall not being afraid of the dark, but feeling elated at being outside in a costume when I usually would have been inside. I still feel that spark to this day.
