Be Aware or Should I Say Beware
I sat awake yet again at 3am, wishing I could just get some sleep. The wind roared outside with the storm that battered the house and shook the trees. 'This is great.' I thought. 'No sleep and a long day tomorrow. Maybe counting sheep? No what am I 12?' I paused my thoughts before releasing an exasperated sigh. 'One. Two. Three. Fou-' BANG! The sound rang loudly through the house urging me to sit upright and look around the room. I strained to listen for any other indicator that someone had broken in but my ears rang with the dead silence of the place. With a shrug I laid back down to resume my childish sheep counting. 'Five. Six. Sev-' BANG BANG!!!! Again I sat upright, my heart picking up pace with the numerous possibilities of what could've caused the sound or, where it might have come from. I swung my feet to the floor and grabbed the flashlight off my nightstand. BANG! The sound rang out again making me jump. I steeled myself as I reached the door and flung it open.

Again, I woke up not really remembering what had happened although I knew I felt as if my body had been dismembered. It was horrible not knowing what I had been put through.

"I see dead people." "In your dreams? While you're awake? [beat] "Dead people like, in graves? In coffins?" "Walking around like regular people. They don't see each other. They only see what they want to see. They don't know they're dead."

When I pulled into my parking lot this evening, I saw a strange, black shape on my roof. It was small and from a distance looked like nothing but a piece of trash. I noticed my cat calmly sitting beside this strange mass and assumed she had just been rummaging around garbage cans again and didn't think twice about it.

Chapter One: A Night to Remember Chapter One: A Night to Remember The air was cool and crisp as I stepped out into the night, the door creaking closed quietly behind me. Tonight’s nightmare was even worse than the last. This time I was unable to shake the feeling that this had indeed been a distant memory from my childhood, one that my mind seemed desperate to erase. It was so vivid, so…REAL.

HENRY MOTHER FUCKEN ROLLINS!!! Yeah, I was likely going to eat this movie up even if it was a total wash, but I did make the best, albeit half-assed, attempt to look at the movie objectively and see past my man crush on Uncle Hank. So I took this movie for what it was, for what it was, and it was pretty good. There was solid action, pretty good acting, funny at times, and it certainly didn't take itself too seriously.

Well, one day you may come across yourself being in this exact position, whether you had planned to or not. "This is it?" - John Cusack as Mike Enslin, upon entering the titular hotel room. Hello one and all. Horror movies in the 2000s had grown quite stale in my opinion. Gone were the genuine chills and thrills of the 60s, 70s, and 80s yester-year when filmmakers cared about their audience. Films that were about flesh and blood characters going through their worst fears and putting us through Hell and back were gone. Ghosts, vampires, kids-with-freaky-powers, psycho-killers, werewolves, witches, sharks, demonically-possessed-children, flesh-eating-parasites, beasties, gremlins, and sickos were a mainstay in each of those decades. The previous decade just decided to reboot or remake some of those horror movie memories, thinking that CGI and slick panache would do the trick. Or, just as bad, they'd take some of the best horror movies from Asia and Americanize them, thinking that the same story would work here in the states. Some of them may have worked: The Grudge is one example. Some didn't: The Ring is one of those examples.

I've been intrigued by stories of killer cats loose in Britain's countryside. Sightings of ABC's (Alien Big Cats) have been around for many years; prints, scat, and evidence of cat kills have also been reported. So, do these cats survive in the British countryside?
Tina CollinsPublished 7 years ago in HorrorMost Paranormal Places in America
Throughout the world, there are locations that just don't quite seem "right." Whether it's due to some horrifying tragedy, too much hearsay about strange goings-on, or something that humanity genuinely has yet to understand, certain places just have a certain je ne sais quoi that makes them seem mysterious, unearthly, or paranormal in nature.

What makes for a good haunted house movie? A scary building, creaky doors, people walking around with candles, and lots of sudden surprises? Well, perhaps. But maybe it takes something more to really get under the skin. Or—brickwork?
Sebastian PhillipsPublished 7 years ago in HorrorThe Bell Witch of Tennessee
One of America's pastimes is telling ghost stories, but if you live in Tennessee, one story is more terrifying...more intriguing than them all and that is the story of the infamous Bell Witch. The Bell Witch is one of the most well-documented ghost stories in American history. Countless, stories, books, and movies have been inspired by the spirit.
