Shut Your Butt! Celebrating the Glorious Stupidity of ‘MacGruber’
If there’s one thing I admire most in this world, it’s an individual’s commitment to the bit. What that “bit” actually is depends entirely on the situation — the possibilities are endless. Pertaining to the world of movies, it can be Lars von Trier insisting on vilifying himself in the public eye, thus creating a highly devoted fan base and almost ensuring that he will continue to make movies as long as he wishes. (My favorite example is in Antichrist, which begins by showing his name in the title credits, followed by the title of the movie itself, creating the hilarious combination “Lars von Trier, Antichrist”.)

My Review of "Gone With The Wind"
Gone With The Wind has been suggested to me by an old friend for the longest time. I looked at the runtime of the movie and it scared me from watching it for the longest time. It's a whopping four hours long! He asked me to trust him in his suggestion. After years of hesitation I finally caved. I have to say that I thought it was pretty dumb at first, however at some point in the movie, I got sucked in.

My Review of "Giant Little Ones"
Giant Little Ones has been on the suggestion list on Crave for quite some time. It didn't really appeal to me because I had never heard of it. Fortunately, it is a Canadian film and it had made a big buzz at the Toronto Film Festival. I wasn't sure what I was getting myself into but I was trusting the critics on this one.

Noah: The Madness of the Divine
There has been much ado over the movie, Noah. As I often do with most big pictures, for which I have waited with some interest and anticipation, I ignored most of what I had been hearing from the critics who had offered up their punditry based on early screenings to test markets, and went in to the theatre with an open mind.

The Invisible - A Movie Review
Where did I hear that voice? Who is calling my name? Released to theaters in 2007, after he is beaten down in the woods, The Invisible is about a teenage boy left in a strange situation. Invisible to the living, Nick has to find a way of communication before time runs out. Unexpectedly, he bonds with someone who he never thought he would ever befriend.

My Review of "Brooklyn Nine-Nine: Season 7
Brooklyn Nine-Nine has been a consistently funny series. I found that they really elevated their level of stories in the last few seasons. There has been a sense of change with each proceeding season. Season 7 still has a lot of the bite that the previous seasons had but I found that they lacked a little compared to the tremendous last few seasons. Still as a standalone season it wasn't too bad so long as you know all the backstory behind each character.

Ryan Murphy's Hollywood Reimagines History
Ryan Murphy's "Hollywood," is a new Netflix mini-series that aired on May 1st, and tells the story of small cast of characters who are trying to make their dreams come true in Hollywood in the years after World War II. It's not historically accurate, in that it imagines the Hollywood the filmmaker wants to exist, and not the one that actually exists. There isn't really anyway to talk about this show without offering spoilers, so be ware that there will be some in this post.

Review of ‘The Memory Thief’
Synopsis Perfect for fans of Leigh Bardugo and Victoria Aveyard, The Memory Thief by debut author Lauren Mansy brings readers on an unforgettable journey through the city of Craewick---a city where memories are currency, citizens are divided by ability, and “Gifted” individuals can take memories from others as they please. In the realms of The Memory Thief, memories are currency that can be traded for goods, services, skills, and experiences. A group of people—the Gifted—can steal and redistribute memories. Etta is secretly one of them, but she hasn’t used her Gifted abilities since she left the rebel Shadows following her mother’s accident two years ago. But when her mother is again in danger, Etta has no choice but to return to the underground group in order to complete her greatest heist and save her mother’s life. Etta faces startling attacks, unexpected romance, and above all, her own past as she uncovers a conspiracy that challenges everything she knew about herself and the world around her. In a place where nothing is what it seems, can Etta ever become more than a memory thief?

Review of ‘Sword in the Stars’ (Once and Future, #2)
Synopsis In this epic sequel to Once & Future, to save the future, Ari and her Rainbow knights pull off a heist...thousands of years in the past. Ari Helix may have won her battle against the tyrannical Mercer corporation, but the larger war has just begun. Ari and her cursed wizard Merlin must travel back in time to the unenlightened Middle Ages and steal the King Arthur's Grail---the very definition of impossible. It's imperative that the time travelers not skew the timeline and alter the course of history. Coming face-to-face with the original Arthurian legend could produce a ripple effect that changes everything. Somehow Merlin forgot that the past can be even more dangerous than the future...
