Before We Go - A Movie Review
What do you think would happen if I called my past self on the phone? Traveling to New York City in 2014, Before We Go is about two strangers who meet one night. Each trying to get back home, Nick and Brooke learn about one another. In the little time they have, they help solve one another’s issues and insecurities.

"The Adam Project" REVIEW. Top Story - March 2022.
I'll admit it: I wasn't excited for The Adam Project. The last time Netflix collaborated with Ryan Reynolds, we got Red Notice. I liked Red Notice fine, but it hardly blew me away. Before that, Netflix and Ryan Reynolds gave us 6 Underground, which is pretty flashy, loud, and stupid. So when I heard that they were collaborating again, I put it on my to-watch list, but I didn't make it into a priority.

Identity, Growth, and the Ship of Theseus
I’m a huge fan of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, philosophy, and great storytelling. Naturally, I really liked Marvel’s WandaVision, which combined these three things in a way I haven’t seen before. The underlying exploration of grief, trauma, and coping was deep and poignant to me, and I’m sure I’ll end up discussing that in a later post. This week, I want to discuss a concept that was explored in the season finale: the Ship of Theseus.

My Review of "Reacher: Season One"
Reacher: Season One is probably my biggest surprise TV show of 2022 so far. I didn't expect to like this show quite so much. Then again it does have a heavy dose of nostalgia in the mix. It's not based on an old TV show or even set in the past. The style in which they play out this show feels very old school.

The Batman Movie Review
Of the many superheroes in the DC roster, Batman is certainly the most popular with multiple iterations over the last thirty years. It’s been almost a full decade since the last standalone iteration of the Caped Crusader; his return to the big screen takes a more visceral, violent direction.

Cyrano - A Movie Review
How do I get Roxanne to notice me? I will swoon her with my letters. Cyrano is a 2021 film. Cyrano, a man with dwarfism, is in love with Roxanne. Only she doesn’t love him back. Sharing feelings for her too, Christian asks Cyrano for his help. Writing romantic poems for Roxanne, each man is in a battle to woo her heart.

My Review of "Ride the Eagle"
Ride the Eagle came out quietly in 2021. I've never heard of this movie but I thought it was an interesting idea. Also, I was pretty impressed that they could garner so many stars to play in such a small movie. It just recently came up on Crave in Canada so I decided to check it out.

My Review of "Earthquake: Legendary"
Earthquake: Legendary is Earthquake's first Netflix stand-up special. It seems to be a new stand-up series that highlight stand-up comedians that need more light. I have to admit, I've only heard of Earthquake before but never really heard his sets. This is a shame because he's been around for a long time so there's lots to catch up on.

Split Second: A Review
Movies were a huge part of my childhood. I grew up in the 1980s, when cable television and video first surfaced in popular culture, so I rented, bought, and watched a lot of movies at home. I was a horror enthusiast but being an only child and a latchkey kid with a predisposition toward solitude, I would watch anything just to pass the time. Yet there were many movies that I wanted to see but never got around to checking out.

Kuzgun: An Epic Tale
My love for and foray into Turkish drama happened purely by accident and I have Instagram reels and YouTube to thank for that. Turkish drama contains some rare gems and I am just beginning my journey of discovery. Turkish dramas are lively, suspenseful, beautifully written with some splendid storytelling.
