"The Adam Project" REVIEW
I'll admit it: I wasn't excited for The Adam Project. The last time Netflix collaborated with Ryan Reynolds, we got Red Notice. I liked Red Notice fine, but it hardly blew me away. Before that, Netflix and Ryan Reynolds gave us 6 Underground, which is pretty flashy, loud, and stupid. So when I heard that they were collaborating again, I put it on my to-watch list, but I didn't make it into a priority.

Things were going well for Lindsey Peterson (Annika Foster). The family restaurant was thriving, her parents' marriage was going strong, and she was on the verge of marrying her fiancé Gavin (Jonathan Stoddard). But her perfect life comes crashing down when her mother is suddenly killed in a hit-and-run. Even more shocking is a surprise guest who arrives at the funeral: Sarah (Aubrey Reynolds), the daughter Lindsey's father Jim (Patrick M.J. Finerty) had during a previous relationship. Stunned from all these revelations, Lindsey has trouble acclimating to the fact that she has a half-sister.

The second novel in the Evermore Chronicles, Into the Hourglass, keeps up the pacing and the momentum, delivering a non-stop adventure that pushes Everly to her limits.

I’m a huge fan of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, philosophy, and great storytelling. Naturally, I really liked Marvel’s WandaVision, which combined these three things in a way I haven’t seen before. The underlying exploration of grief, trauma, and coping was deep and poignant to me, and I’m sure I’ll end up discussing that in a later post. This week, I want to discuss a concept that was explored in the season finale: the Ship of Theseus.
Jacob KnightPublished 2 years ago in GeeksMy Review of "Reacher: Season One"
Reacher: Season One is probably my biggest surprise TV show of 2022 so far. I didn't expect to like this show quite so much. Then again it does have a heavy dose of nostalgia in the mix. It's not based on an old TV show or even set in the past. The style in which they play out this show feels very old school.
Brian AnonymousPublished 2 years ago in GeeksLifetime Review: 'You Can Never Go Home Again'
In the months since losing her mother to cancer, Izzy Fletcher (Maria Breese) hasn't felt right. On top of her grief, she's let her painting career fall to the back burner and she's felt a distance forming between herself and her husband Jack (Omar Gooding). But having moved to Jack's hometown for a fresh start, Izzy hopes it'll be the change she needs to heal and bridge that gap. As Izzy adjusts to her new home and tries to move past her pain, Jack throws himself into his new job in app design while bonding with an unlikely friend. That friend is Emma Sanders (Jackie Moore), a teacher at his old elementary school where his and Izzy's daughter Taylor (Liliana Ali) is now a student.
Trevor WellsPublished 2 years ago in GeeksThe Batman Movie Review
Of the many superheroes in the DC roster, Batman is certainly the most popular with multiple iterations over the last thirty years. It’s been almost a full decade since the last standalone iteration of the Caped Crusader; his return to the big screen takes a more visceral, violent direction.

Marielle SabbagPublished 2 years ago in GeeksMy Review of "Ride the Eagle"
Ride the Eagle came out quietly in 2021. I've never heard of this movie but I thought it was an interesting idea. Also, I was pretty impressed that they could garner so many stars to play in such a small movie. It just recently came up on Crave in Canada so I decided to check it out.
Brian AnonymousPublished 2 years ago in GeeksMy Review of "Earthquake: Legendary"
Earthquake: Legendary is Earthquake's first Netflix stand-up special. It seems to be a new stand-up series that highlight stand-up comedians that need more light. I have to admit, I've only heard of Earthquake before but never really heard his sets. This is a shame because he's been around for a long time so there's lots to catch up on.

Movies were a huge part of my childhood. I grew up in the 1980s, when cable television and video first surfaced in popular culture, so I rented, bought, and watched a lot of movies at home. I was a horror enthusiast but being an only child and a latchkey kid with a predisposition toward solitude, I would watch anything just to pass the time. Yet there were many movies that I wanted to see but never got around to checking out.
