TRUTH OR DARE (2018) Sucks. Let's Fix It.
I can point to the exact moment I gave up on Truth or Dare (2018). That's not to say that I stopped watching the movie at this point. I just stopped caring. There was one scene that was so profoundly stupid that it entirely undermined the entire horror movie, and at that point I just could not remain invested no matter what came next.

The Dragons of Valley HighTop Story - May 2022
There weren't always dragons in the Valley, and let me tell you: it was so boring. Of course some people complain, but some people are always complaining. For instance, when I was just a little kid, there were all kinds of heated arguments because our school officially changed it's name to Palmer Valley High. For the hundred previous years the school had operated under the name of a Confederate General. Gag. You'd think that people would understand why that had to change, but you'd be wrong.

When The Fire Goes Out
In Ancient Rome, it was considered spiritually critical that the sacred fire of Vesta never burn out. The sacred eternal fire had its own temple, and the Vestal Virgins were tasked with ensuring that the fire continue to burn on and on. There was not to be an end.

"Windfall" REVIEW
There's something undeniably retro about Windfall. With a few technological exceptions, Windfall could have been made in the era of Rear Window or Wait Until Dark. There's a distinct impression that the movie wants to be considered alongside the work of Alfred Hitchcock in everything from the style of the poster to the opening credits to the soundtrack.

"The Adam Project" REVIEWTop Story - March 2022
I'll admit it: I wasn't excited for The Adam Project. The last time Netflix collaborated with Ryan Reynolds, we got Red Notice. I liked Red Notice fine, but it hardly blew me away. Before that, Netflix and Ryan Reynolds gave us 6 Underground, which is pretty flashy, loud, and stupid. So when I heard that they were collaborating again, I put it on my to-watch list, but I didn't make it into a priority.

"Downfall: The Case Against Boeing" REVIEW
Two questions: What comes to mind when you hear the name Boeing? What about specifically the 737 Max? In October of 2018, a Boeing 737 Max went down outside of Jakarta, Indonesia. 189 people died. The world was horrified and confused. How could this happen? We were told to wait while investigations plumbed the depths of what had happened. So we waited. Theories were floated, and experts shared their opinions, and eventually the media cycle moved on.

I Don't Want to Talk About TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE
We're clearly having something of a "moment" in horror. Laurie Strode returned for Halloween and Halloween Kills, and she'll be back in Halloween Ends. 2022's Scream brought Sidney Prescott back to the current decade. Spiral brought a new spin on Saw. In 2021, Candyman returned for the first time in decades.

Artists Feel Like Crap Sometimes. It's Okay.Top Story - February 2022
"I hate awards season." Search that on twitter, and you will find plenty of people who find awards shows tacky. Awards season invites all sorts of opinions about who deserved to win what, and people can find that either exciting or extremely grating. Plenty of people spend awards season frustrated that something that was personally meaningful to them got snubbed.

"Murderville: Season 1" - STREAM IT OR SKIP IT?
There's so much content out there these days that it can be hard to find anything worth watching. I know that sounds backwards, but there are simply so many options that the true gems are hidden among the ranks of the mediocre, or even the outright bad. Besides, modern shows are designed with carefully planted cliffhangers so that once you get started, it's hard to walk away. Then you look up, and six hours have passed, and you realise that you didn't really enjoy any of it. It was distracting, and it got its hooks in you, but you kinda wish that you had those six hours back.
