Breaklands is back! Kasa has rescued her brother, but that just means now she's being pursued by Skypirates, land bound criminals, and the God King Rask.

It's Mad Max meets Akira in a genre mashing, expectation smashing new hit series from Justin Jordan, creator of Luther Strode, Spread, and Reaver, joined in mayhem by newcomer artist Tysaseta, colorist Sarah Stern and letter Rachel Deering. Breaklands Season Two is the follow up to last year’s smash hit debut!

I LOVE this series! I am so happy that this is back for another season because these characters have that ability to seep into your soul and you can’t help but care about them. I will wholeheartedly admit that I was so against solely digital comics, however with everything I have read from them has been so incredibly amazing and the talent is outrageously good. This team here has created a world and the people who inhabit it and have made feel like it’s a real place which is crazy. I fall under its spell everytime that I see the pages or a character within the story how many books can you say that about?

The way this is being told is sensational! The story & plot development we see through how the sequence of events unfold as well as how the reader learns information is presented incredibly well. The way Justin is telling this with the group Kasa has joined and they’ve become something like family and that while they know about Adam now Kasa is on their radar too and she has no clue as to why. The character development we see is so genuine and as we watch them grow and learn through their interactions and as they act and react to the situations and circumstances they encounter. The pacing is superb and as it takes us through the pages revealing the jist of this arc we are treated to such an interesting thrill ride.

I like the way that we see this being structured and how the layers continue to be shown as well as new ones emerging. Each character brings such a different dynamic to the book and the story that it’s pretty amazing. How we see everything working together to create the story’s ebb & flow is marvellous to see.

The interiors here a rather interesting. Normally not the kind of thing I go for but when you get into the series you appreciate what you see more and more. It is kind of like what you might see on Cartoon Network these days. The linework we see is strong and confident, I wish we’d see more varying weights but it still works and the detail work is interesting as only Tyasetta could make it. The utilisation of the page layouts and how we see the angles and perspective in the panels show a solid eye for storytelling. The colour work is nicely rendered as well. I like how we see the colour blocking and the hues and tones utilised to bring out the shading, highlights and shadow work. This feels like an all-ages interior with some really sharp lines and it somehow works extremely well here and the creativity and imagination we see is utterly marvellous.

This is not your regular post apocalyptic world, well maybe it is but the way it’s set up and how we see the power structure in the cities and the wild it really makes for some really interesting thoughts. This engages the readers’ mind so that they expand the world for themselves and kind of flesh out this world even more. The way information is given perfectly allows for the readers’ own creativity and imagination come alive.
