Gamer Movies
Over the years there have been many gaming movies released based on the top selling or most popular games at the time. One of my early favorite was TRON, released in July of 1982 starring Jeff Bridges about a computer programmer who was zapped into the TRON video game and then has to beat different levels to escape. Then back in 2010 the sequel to TRON, TRON Legacy was released with the return of Jeff Bridges 28 years later and Garrett Hedlund as his son. But, these are not the movies I wish to talk to you about.

I Found A Community In Gaming That Helped Me Give Back
That was the first time I picked up a controller and pressed the start button and became fully immersed into a world that wasn’t my own. From that moment on, I was hooked! The thrill of victory and overcoming the challenges the game had set was exliterating. Each and every game has its own unique win conditions, and once you meet them, you want to find a new game and new win conditions to test your skills over and over again! The ability to play with my friends made gaming a staple pastime in my book.

How Gaming Is Keeping Me Sane
Over the last year, we’ve all found ourselves stuck inside more and more. One of the few upsides to the last twelve to fourteen months is how many people have either got back into video games or have picked up a pad for the first time. It’s shown the world just how important games can be both as a story-telling medium and as a form of escapism from whatever troubles, little or large, we face in our real lives. Some people even took the time and effort to master specific games either for their own enjoyment or the satisfaction of emerging victorious (lets face it, winning does feel pretty great most of the time).
Peter EllisPublished 3 years ago in Gamers Where is console gaming going?
Gaming has come leaps and bounds in ever-increasingly shorter timescales. It only feels like yesterday that I was playing Spyro and Crash Bandicoot on the PS1, but even before that, there were older gaming consoles like the Sega Mega Drive, Nintendo N64, and even consoles like the Atari Pong.
At Long Last, I’m (Partially) Excited for Pokémon Again
Pokémon was a significant part of my childhood; as a kid, I was obsessed with the anime and would watch it as often as I could. I never really got into collecting the trading cards though, nor did I play the games released for the Game Boy Advance. I did want Pokémon XD: Gale of Darkness for a brief time, but it wasn’t one of the top games on my wish list. However, in 2007, my parents gifted me a Nintendo DS Lite, and with it came an opportunity to finally snag some Pokémon games of my own. I knew that the newest generation of the games was releasing on the DS, and I was excited to finally try one out. It seemed that Pokémon as a whole was entering a new era, because the Diamond and Pearl anime also started to air around this time, and I found myself engrossed in the new characters and creatures the show introduced. I was obsessed with Pokémon, and I was eager to play Diamond and Pearl and have a complete blast traversing through the Sinnoh region. Unfortunately, it would be a while before I got my hands on the games. The opportunity never arose throughout 2007, and I moved to India in the first half of 2008, where the games hadn’t been stocked yet. By this time, I had gotten a chance to finally play some of the older games, and I was certain that I would end up enjoying the DS games. As fate would have it, my father traveled to the United States in the latter half of the year, and he came back with a brand new copy of Pokémon Pearl. It was a dream come true for 10 year old me, and from the moment I booted up the game, I was addicted.
Arvind PennathurPublished 3 years ago in GamersHow Playing DnD Rekindled my Love for Writing
There’s a lot I can say about the last year of my life but most of it would revolve around the existential dread brought on by Covid and let’s be real, there’s been enough articles about that. So instead of doing that, I want to highlight something good that came out of my lockdown experience...I started playing Dungeons and Dragons!!

Cindy Shore SmithPublished 3 years ago in GamersIt's a Me, Mario! I'm A 31!
31 years ago today, Super Mario Brothers 3 was released in North America. Being the third installment in the series, this 2-D platformer had a lot to live up to, and it did just that splendidly. But what exactly made this game so great?

As I crept closer to the crevice, I knew that a giant orc was waiting on the other side. He was much stronger than me and my puny bow, but I was hoping to get lucky with a headshot. I peeked around the corner and tried to aim without aggroing the beast when…
Darryl BrooksPublished 3 years ago in GamersHow I Rediscovered My Lost Joy For Video Games During The Pandemic
Joy is defined as "a great feeling of pleasure and happiness." Many things throughout your life can bring you joy. Friends, travel, sports, and exercise are just a few of the many experiences in my life that have brought me joy. There is also one particular experience that continued to be a joyous experience throughout my life. Well, that is until adulthood, and responsibilities changed everything. But would that joyful experience be gone forever? Due to an unseen predicament, I would reunite with the joy that kept my heart warm for so many years. Before I dive into what happened, let me take you back to the very beginning.
The Nerd HabitPublished 3 years ago in GamersThere Is Reportedly A 'Star Wars: Knights Of The Old Republic' In Development, But It Isn't From EA Or Bioware
When it comes to Star Wars video games, one that many fans want to see have a resurgence, whether it be in the form of a video game remake or an adaptation for film or television, is 2003's Knights of the Old Republic. Taking place nearly 4,000 years before the films, this game spawned a sequel video game, an MMORPG franchise, a comic series, and some novels. The names of some of the game's characters, especially the Sith, have become staples of Star Wars lore conversations. The game was so well received that some of those who played it express that they want to see some sort of return to it in our modern era, perhaps even a remake that would be considered canon instead of Legends. Some bits of the lore have even made their way into the animated series Star Wars Rebels and the visual dictionary for Star Wars: Episode IX: The Rise of Skywalker.
