They're lying to you about online money!
For years, the online frauds have been telling people that they can get a lot of money from doing simple stuff online, such as playing this game, or doing that task, or even from watching ads. Many people who are trying to get financial addition believe that and immediately start making hopes and wasting their time by trying to gain a few dollars by trying those apps and websites, only to end up realizing that they only gained a few cents and that making a single dollar could be really exhausting and hard. This is coming from a personal experience; as someone who's been, for years and years, trying to make money online, I've come to the conclusion that most of those sites and apps are just a big waste of time. I have spent countless nights staring at screens, clicking on repetitive surveys, and downloading shady applications that promised a "passive income" or a "quick side hustle." In the end, the only people getting rich from those apps are the developers themselves, who use your data and your time to fuel their own advertising revenue. Does that mean that you can't make money online? Well, you can, but in order to ensure that, you need followers. Yes, followers is the keyword. Many people don't want to start a YouTube channel, or become content creators on Instagram or TikTok because it's a very long journey and could be difficult to get followers, but they don't realize that in order to make actual money you need those followers even if you become a seller or marketer or even service provider. Even my article won't be read or seen by many since I don't have followers, which means it's pointless on the financial level, but I'm going to express my thoughts on this matter anyway. The Illusion of "Easy Tasks" Let’s look at the reality of these "micro-task" websites. They often target people who are desperate for a financial breakthrough. They show you shiny dashboards and "proof of payment" screenshots that are often faked or belong to a tiny percentage of users. When you actually dive in, you realize that a task that takes 30 minutes of your life might only pay you $0.05. If you calculate the hourly rate, it’s far below the minimum wage of any country. It is a modern form of digital labor exploitation disguised as a "fun opportunity." Furthermore, many of these platforms have a "minimum withdrawal" limit. They might require you to reach $50 before you can cash out, but they will stop giving you tasks once you reach $45. This keeps you trapped in their ecosystem, working for free while chasing a reward that will never come. This is why I say they are lying to you; they aren't selling you a job, they are selling you a dream to keep you clicking. Why Numbers Matter More Than Skills In the modern digital economy, attention is the most valuable currency. You could be the most talented artist, the smartest programmer, or the best writer, but if nobody knows you exist, you have zero market value. This is a hard truth to swallow. When you have a following, whether it’s 1,000 or 100,000 people, you have leverage. You can sell a digital product, you can get sponsorships, or you can simply drive traffic to a blog that pays you for views. Without followers, you are just another voice in a crowded room of billions. Even if you are a freelancer offering services, you still need "social proof" or a network to get high-paying clients. The "get rich quick" apps try to bypass this fundamental rule of business, which is why they always fail. They promise you the money without the influence, but in the online world, one cannot exist without the other. So, to clarify things: You can't make real money online from doing the tasks and using the apps they tell you about. The only way to make enough and real money online is by making content that attracts too many views and followers. Anything other than that is just a false promise. If you want to change your financial situation, stop looking for "easy apps" and start building a community. It is a long, hard road, but it is the only one that actually leads to a paycheck.

Interesting Things About the Month of May
May is the fifth month of the year and is named after the Greek goddess Maia, who was associated with growth and fertility. This is fitting, as May is a time when flowers and trees begin blooming in the Northern Hemisphere. This is probably why people say, "April showers bring May flowers."

Refined Russian Propaganda
Author's note: I came across this document accidentally on Facebook when a colleague published it as an example of new effort to develop modern ideology for Russia. Despite the fact that the country is still at war with Ukraine (it is never mentioned in the document), the Russian ideologues feel that they need a new program for keeping the country from falling apart. It is a long marvelous document that I could summarize as "Something old, something new, but nothing true." I do not expect anyone to read it in its entirety, as it is probably extremely boring for people who are not specialists in propaganda and rhetoric. But I'll just leave it here for public reference. The original publication in Russian starts on p.18 at this link

The Most Difficult Language I Have Ever Studied
I like to tell people that I learn languages for a living. This is neither a joke nor an exaggeration, as I work as a linguist and content creator for a London-based company called uTalk, and we make language learning apps for all types of devices. If you’ve ever flown Turkish Airlines and stumbled upon a page to learn Turkish while you were browsing the movie screen on the back of the seat in front of you, then yes, you’ve seen our work.

Why Gen Z Is Ditching Bars, Clubs, and Booze
For decades, nightlife culture revolved around a familiar formula: loud music, crowded dance floors, and alcohol-fueled confidence—often tied to meeting potential romantic partners. But that script is rapidly changing. Generation Z, those born roughly between the late 1990s and early 2010s, are reshaping social life in ways that are sending shockwaves through the alcohol industry.

Why Pennies Cost More to Make
For something worth just one cent, the humble penny has sparked a surprisingly big debate. For years, economists, policymakers, and everyday consumers have questioned whether it still makes sense to produce a coin that often costs more to manufacture than it’s actually worth. With rising production costs and shifting payment habits, the future of the penny looks increasingly uncertain—and in many places, it’s already been phased out.

A Sea of Words
Introduction I am currently reading “Queen of The Swords” the second of the “Swords of Corum” books that I wrote about in the article below) by Micael Moorcock, and came across one of the obstacles that the protagonists have to overcome, the Lake of Voices. Every drop of water in the lake is a tormented human soul and as they row across the lake the souls cry out in anguish, driving the rowers mad. The spirit of the lake tells them to join the souls in the lake and their anguish will be soothed but they reach the other side and this results in the human souls being freed from the evil spirit of the lake.

How To Immmediately Scare You With Scarce Evidence
If you answered yes to the question, should you use it, then you need to look yourself in the mirror and ask if that's the person you always want to be. Because messaging isn't always about you, or your intent. Messaging is often about the effects of what you're putting out there.
