Chapter Four – Checking-in at the Airport It had been five years since Gong-Gi set foot in an airport. After a dozen countries, all the airports look the same. He didn't miss the endless queues and scratch marks caused by suitcases. Security guards were telling everyone with a bare face to put their masks on. That deja-vu hit him like a tonne of bricks until he was asked to do his lateral flow test. As far as he was concerned, nothing belonged up his nose.

I approach the iron door at the back of Ragna's temple. As always, it opens for me. I don't see many as I wind my way through the Temple Shadows, winding my way down to the War Hall. Hidden deep under the temple, it should be lit by torches, yet the light during the day doesn't come from torches. I still wasn't sure where the mirrors were or how they got the light down this far, but I was grateful for it.

**A draft from last year, I was going to submit for a challenge but didn't finish in time!** If walls could talk I could tell all the horrors I've witnessed, I am a prison wall after all. I've seen everything from people completely breaking down, screaming for help, fights, having every bodily fluid thrown at me and the other walls, to the worst which is death in many forms. It's rare for me to see any sort of happiness, which is why when I do I tend to hold on to every detail, and those are the stories I would love to share with anyone that would listen.

Once Corina and Isabella get the clinic’s gear packed back up, George shows us all out through the back door into the garden. Clouds drift high overhead, covering the midday sun. The air has cooled significantly, which likely means rain is coming soon. That’s good for us. It means the roads won’t be as busy, and it gives us a good excuse to hide our faces. When it rains, people tend to keep to themselves, only paying attention to their own problems. Plus, the cool afternoon air is a nice break from the oppressive heat we’ve had recently.
