Convention
I wiped my hands on the fabric of my dress. The shiny, man made fibres were doing very little to absorb the river of sweat pouring from them. The white paper I held was growing increasingly damp and floppy. Why hadn’t I thought to print this on card?

The Missing Heirloom
Once upon a time, in a beautiful village located between hills and forests but in the county of Elmswood, there resided a young girl by the name of Lily. As for the female protagonist, she was quite a curious and adventurous woman who enjoyed life and its moments in every possible way. But her days were interesting as she was free to wander around in the meadows, climb trees and listen to the stories narrated by the elderly people in the village. However, there was one of the stories that intrigued her more than the other—the story of the lost heirloom. The heirloom was a piece of jewelry, precisely, a locket that was designed in the most elegant way possible, with a touch of magic to it. It had been in Lily’s family for generations; from mother to her daughter. It was said that whoever possessed the locket would have a life full of luck and wealth. It was a long time ago but one day it vanished and no one has since been able to locate it. It was another bright day and after a while, as Lily was sitting on the porch with her grandmother she decided to repeat her question. “Grandma, do you know anything about the missing heirloom?” Lily asked meekly with the curiosity filled eyes. Her grandmother smiled and the look in her eyes was like she was reminiscing something. “You know, the heirloom was the most beautiful thing that you could ever come across in your entire life; a gold piece of jewel with a sapphire in the middle and signifying the royal heritage of our family. It has not been seen for a long time, people can no longer even remember when they saw it last. ” “Do you think it could be there,” Lily proclaimed, as she continued her investigation. “No one knows, dear. It is said that it has been lost somewhere but it’s nearby. Perhaps one day, a young man with a clean intention and extremely sensitive perception will stumble upon it. ” Having read Lily’s mind, her grandmother left her with something to think about. She thought the power to identify the location of the heirloom and also get it back to her family was on her. Thus the next morning Lily went for her mission. She took a small bag with some food, notebook, and a magnifying glass, which is always helpful for every detectives. Flick began her hunt in the attic, where she began sifting through old trunks and decaying boxes. One can only hope to find old letters, photographs, and other small items such as the locket that the two characters were desperately searching for throughout the film. When she realized that she didn’t find the key inside she decided to go and look outside, in the garden. She searched every flower blossom, turned over every rock, and even swung herself up into the branches of the old oak in the rear. But it was after all this and still there was no sign of the heirloom. Lily was tired of trying to fight against the flow and so as the night crept in, she sat on the grass, her spirit broken. She For a moment, she glanced around, attempting to come up with any place that she probably overlooked. Her gaze went to the outer boundary of that thicket and it dawned on her. This raises the question, what if the locket was hidden there? Forcing herself hard, Lily strode into the jungle, this time with a new spirit. The branches of the trees formed a canopy overhead giving a play of shadows of the ground while the twittering of the birds and the sound of leaves could be heard. Lily got deeper into the forest, her eyes searching every corner of the forest for any trace of an animal. Finally, Lily was able to find a break in the trees and see a tiny, secret garden. There stood a great big tree at the very heart of the glade with gnarled roots growing out of the huge trunk. There was just something mysterious about the tree, as though it was a sentry for a hidden truth. Lily moved closer to the tree and was picking at one of its roots. Feeling a thrill of excitement, she saw a tiny space carved into the tree at the base of the trunk. Her heart pounded with elicitation as she reached in side. He touched her hand and his fingers traced a cold hard surface she had unknowingly grabbed. Gently, she slid it out. And there, in her hands, was the missing heirloom which she had thought had been lost forever. The chains of the locket were made of gold and the middle part of the locket contained a beautiful sapphire. For a moment, Lily could hardly believe it was really her she was seeing. She had done it! This must have been why she was so caught up with the hidden treasure, the precious heirloom. Still elated, Lily returned to the village with a choke hold on the locket. She entered her grandmother’s house in a hurry, her joy reflected by her excited look on her face. The prospect of discovering the heirloom made her’s heart flutter, and with keen excitement she shouted to the grandma, “Grandma, look! I found it! I found the heirloom!” Lily seen the surprise and disbelief in her grandmother’s eyes when she handed the locket to her. “Oh, dear, you are surely a special girl for you brought back the family’s treasure. ” The rumor of the discovery of the girl known as Lily made the rounds in the village swiftly. Of course everyone rejoiced and smiled because the precious heirloom was found again after a long time. To celebrate the joyous occasion that was, that evening the villagers came to Lily’s home. There was cheerful music in the background as people danced and laughed with each other as they admired the pretty locket. Lily was still dancing when the old woman, her grandmother she realized beckoned her over and pressed something cold into her hand – a locket. “This is yours now, Lily. You shown what you’re capable of, becoming a brave woman, the same as those who came before you. Wear it with pride and you should always know that the magic that resides in you is phenomenal. ” Lily’s joy was reflected on her face, as she wiped tears which had formed in her eyes after receiving the locket. She put with it around the neck and felt like a warm comforter moved to the side of her neck. She knew it was not just an accessory she was going to wear; it was the love deposited in her by her ancestors. So, for several subsequent weeks, Lily never took off the locket on her neck regardless of where she went. And indeed they did, it ultimately helped her to find happiness in her life, as it was prophesized by their legends. The girl did not cease to go further exploring the world around, which was interesting for her, and she very much wanted to know everything. Every time she gazed at the locket, she was taken down memory lane and revisited the enchanting journey that had resulted in her discovering the necklace. Years later when she has grown up and has her children of her own she will take her time to tell them about the missing heirloom. She would look at the sparkles of joy and interest that the children would bring that was similar to her childhood days. And she would smile, knowing that the heirloom would always go on to generate the same relief and wonder in different generations of the family. Elmswood was always considered a village of mystery and enchantment, for rolling hills and vast beautiful forest and the tale of the dauntless little girl who recovered the lost article. And so the legend was etched deep and became a part of folklore memories of all those who dared to listen it.

Court of the Rogue
In the hub of the city of Eldoria where tales of enchantment and the smell of baking bread floated in the air there was a notorious place, infamous for its secrecy and risk—the Court of the Rogue. It was a secret world, a refuge for all the undesired, the beggars, cutthroats, and vagrants of the city. This organisation was headed by none other than its chief, a man who can only be described as Adrian. Adrian was a man of myth, and his legend was teamed and told to the point where people forgot that he was real. He was tall and dark, with colorful blue eyes that could easily penetrate any falsehood and enchanting blinks. But beneath his play-boy persona, there was a man with a heavy load of shame and remorse on his heart. One night, while the moon illumines the beautiful cobblestoned streets, a young man named Adrian, who preferred to be alone with his thoughts, was found sitting on the roof of an ancient cathedral. He stared at the view of the city that was lights down below and whispers of living. His thinking was cut short by the sound of footsteps a distance away coming closer. “Adrian,” a voice whispered, breaking the silence as a beautiful song would. He did a double take and spot a young woman with raven hair falling in her shoulders and greeny eyes full of vigour. She was called Elara: a talented thief who just entered the Court. Her abilities both as a singer and a performer were paired with boldness and passion which earned her Adrian’s respect. “What brings you here, Elara?” Adrian asked, his tone having transitioned between curiosity and what she could only interpret as affection. “I wanted to talk to you,” she said appearing closer to me. “But there is something you need to understand,” Adrian looked at the man, and then he simply raised an eyebrow of curiosity. Until now, Elara had gone to him only regarding official business, never for a matter of the heart. She was always on their missions with a clear mind and always took time to calculate her next moves. “Go on,” he encouraged softly. Elara felt a somewhat anxious in her chest, keeping her focus on him. “Adrian, I have something crucial to tell you in which I did not come to the Court only to run away from the past.” Well, I got here because I am a seeker. Adrian's eyes narrowed slightly. ”Who are they?” “My brother,” Elara voiced in a shaking voice. One day he vanished and now is considered dead and I think he could be in this country, Eldoria. Perhaps, he is in danger I suggested. Adrian’s eyes met Amelia’s and what he saw there filled him with determination. He had experienced the sting of loss – of a beloved family member, nevertheless – and he flinched. The former strike me as brave especially when one said firmly ‘We’ll find him, Elara’. However, the Queen told her: “But you must tell me everything you know.” Elara nodded and her facebead relaxed with relief. She started telling her story – how her younger brother Rowan was a powerful mage, how he disappeared one day, and how she decided to search for him having joined the Court of the Rogue. Soon they developed rapport, a trust that is created when two people are in similar situations, looking forward to something and desiring something they cannot have. These two warriors fell for each other because Adrian was intrigued by Elara’s strength and her need for aid and Elara needed a protector and friend in Adrian. They spent days, and sometimes weeks, chasing the leads based on the original plan and slowly peeling the layers of the conspiracy. They learned that Rowan had been abducted by a vicious sorcerer who called himself Malachai, and who planned to exploit Rowan’s magical powers for his own benefits. Their move was rather risky, and every turn led them closer to the nest of Malachai. Thus, the love between Adrian and Elara became stronger throughout the course of the game. Forced to steal brief moments of joy and comfort, they began to draw nearer to each other with each day. Late one stormy night, when they were making their camp right outside the borders of Eldoria, Elara couldn’t sleep anymore. There she sat by the fire with her head teeming with anxiety and optimism. Adrian came and sat beside her, his nearness soothing her anguish. “Did you ever want to know what life would have been like if something changed?” Elara questioned quietly, her gaze focusing on the firelight. Adrian let out a hefty breath, his eyes looking off into the horizon. Sometimes. But the past is a shadow that cannot be changed. The only thing that is certain is today and the prospect for tomorrow. Seeing him, Elara could only look at him, tears stinging her eyes because of so many things she wanted to tell him, but could not. “Darling, I don’t know what will happen tomorrow, but you should know that you mean a lot to me, probably more than I can ever express. ” Adrian’s features relaxed and slowly his hand came up to cup her cheek. “Elara, you have opened my eyes and shown me life in ways I could have never imagined. I swear to you, we will find your brother and stop this curse.” Their lips gently touched each other in a kiss of reassurance of their love and of the future wars to be fought. The next day, they are able to pinpoint the exact location of the tower where Malachai was hiding – a formidable structure with dangerous mechanisms around it and an array of potent spells. Altogether, they entered the tower and their abilities checked each other well. Sly and speedy, Adrian complemented Elara’s sorceress abilities and her strong-willed personality. Having fought their way through the castle, they finally came face to face with Malachai on the top floor of the tower. The sorcerer was powerful, a black aura around him as if he was a storm. Still, Adrian and Elara fought with the force that combined love and desperation. And so it was Elara’s turn to land the fatal strike, her magic breaking through to Malachai and releasing her brother. Rowan, barely standing, but alive, let out a sigh of relief and hugged his sister. Rowan nodded and whispered his appreciation, “Thank you.” Naruto felt a tremendous weight lifted off his shoulders as he saw the joy on Elara’s face. "We’re together again, Rowan. That is all that counts.” After they stepped out of the tower, with the first rays of the sun illuminating the sky over Eldoria, Adrian squeezed her hand and smiled. “What next for us Adrian?” Elara questioned, her tone pregnant with expectation. Adrian gazed at her; he looked at her and his eyes were full of love. ‘No matter what is in store for us, we will overcome it. The Court of the Rogue has its core now, and it is you, Elara. They took Rowan back to the Court with Adrian and Elara and their growing love became a source of light in the darkness. Together, they built the new life where the love and courage prevailed over the dark forces. Thus, in the obscure places of the Eldoria, the legend of the Court of the Rogue continued to exist; its biggest story being the story of a rogue and a thief who came and overcame the grim fate and who finally found their place by each other’s side.
