The Defiants, part four
Sitting in Dae'lon's office, Skye would have been able to cut the tension if she'd been carrying a knife. Olsen and Galen sat on opposite sides of the room, Nash making sure his friend didn't move and Ava being a buffer between them and the doctor.

Exile
My Ma and I raised birds when I was a kid. We always found that the birds that lived the longest, were those who couldn’t see the bars of their cage. Those that were kept in a room and didn’t know that outside, birds could fly as far as they wished. They figured that this room was the whole wide world, so they were content with their fate; thinking they were free.

Invader
Kapp heard a hollow pop noise, as he opened his eyes he realized the ship was now in open space. One second he was staring at the roof of the dome, and now here he was. To his surprise, they had traveled straight through it. Looking backwards he could see the top of the dome. Home ship was a floating gray sphere in the middle of space, Kapp couldn’t tell how it was propelled and could not imagine how it functioned.

Alien DNA - is the Truth Stranger than Fiction?
Bob decides to go the library, where he can ruminate in peace. He saw on the news that scientists now think we might have DNA. That some humans have origins from beyond this planet. The Mall of Sin
Bob is sitting at the Mall of Sin as he calls it. He is watching the TV. They are talking about the space race. Life has so much to offer but here he sits at the Mall of Sin. Why does he call it that? Well, it's hedonism at its finest. People going broke for material possessions that could be destroyed in a fire tomorrow. At this mall, there is a place to get lap dances, liquor, and Gucci purses. All these people living in the moment, without a care about tomorrow, not even realizing the end is near. Now Bob feels overwhelmed. He takes a big sigh and thinks to himself:

last lost locket
Nobody can hear a scream in the vacuum of space, or so they say. Or so they apparently said, at least according to the faded movie poster in the abandoned theatre. No one had been to space in a very long time as far as she knew. Not since everything came apart up there almost forty years ago. Down here though, when she screamed, her gas mask and goggles just made everything louder to her and quieter to everyone else. So she did it a lot. The vibration of her power felt good against the numbness everyone feels out here in the zone.

Glitch Wipe
Mum couldn’t afford martial arts, so I got a language chip for my birthday instead. Sure, that’s cool and everything, but French doesn’t exactly save you from getting beaten on at school. “Stop hitting me,” isn’t a particularly effective method of getting someone to back off, no matter what language. And it most certainly didn’t work against Eric Jay Benson. He was a rich asshole. Which also made him a black belt rich asshole. His parents had gotten him so many fighting chips he was practically a ninja. The other day at school, he’d even done a triple backflip off the roof when the teachers weren’t watching. Bloody show-offing dick.
