The FrostWing Chronicles
Chapter 9- The Calm Before the Storm Drakon and Ereadus were in the Throne room getting their weapons ready for the trek back. Tyrara and Eyrokar walked in; she was cross about Eyrokar not loving on her as she wanted. “... As I told you, Tyrara. The last time I made love without worrying about something was the night I lost Kayla! I’m sorry that you did not get what you wanted. But I promise I will do you and Eyra for an entire week after I end this war. Don’t think that I can’t. Kayla and I mated for nearly a month until she passed out. But let me end this damn wat first.” Eyrokar growled. “Alright… I accept your apology. Long have the remnants of the FrostWing Empire lived here in the shadows of the Sky Guard Empire. I will send all my twisters and Soldiers to assist you in the coming battles. Shall we meet at SpireRock as we did when we have taken out Zarrious?” Tyrara asked. “Yes, and this time… I will not falter to remove those pests who stand in my way.” Eyrokar growled. “But who will take the throne? We frost dragons can,t. the flame quartz will kill us.” Tyrara stated. “I do not know. Perhaps… Sif! You are one of my newest wives. You do not have any Frost blood within you… Are you willing to be the final push to end the war?” Eyrokar asked. “Her? She is a Mortal!” Tyrara snapped. “She is the only one I trust, and all we need is someone to sit upon the Ruby throne to claim control over the Dragunity Empire than that is what we need to do.” Eyrokar sighed. “Eyrokar… I will do what I must to end the Dragon Mortal War. But please… stay with me.” Sif said softly. “I will do what I must to ensure the war ends… I can’t promise to survive. I will be the main target. But I am more than ready to sacrifice my life to do what is right.” Eyrokar said as he turned the Tyrara and Kissed her. “What of Devarius?” Tyrara asked, “He is not like Geriothar. Devarius is a God on the Council!” She proclaimed. “He is just another obstacle. Kayla and I have killed gods before… He is no different.” Eyrokar growled. “I, too, have killed a couple of gods. But none of them were as ruthless as Devarius. And his hate for you is already immense, being that you killed his son.” Tyrara sighed. “I know what I did; his death and my father were both in revenge for me and vengeance for you.” Eyrokar sighed. “You know I can read your mind… I know this little plan of yours. How can you be so certain it will go as you plan?” Tyrara asked. “Get out of my head! I have many plans. Plans for plans. Even if I must risk my life to end the war, it’s not like I have anything left to live for.” Eyrokar sighed. “You have me, Eyra, Sif, Winter, and Aris. Even your son and Daughter. How can you be so depressing?” Tyrara asked. “I am still nothing without Kayla. You all just sit in a void too large for you all to fill. Bah, Just ensure your forces are at Spirerock. We march upon Frostheim in one week.” Eyrokar growled as he walked out the door into the icy wind of Northwind. Ereadus stopped and turned to Tyrara. “I’m glad to have met you, Grand… I mean Tyrara. Come Drakon, and we have much to still.” Ereadus sighed. “Bye, Tyrara, Loriana, Loressa, stay here. I don’t want to worry about you two outside these walls.” Drakon said as he followed His brother and father with Sif.

Lessons Through Time
Nobody can hear a scream in the vacuum of space, or so they say. I remember spending hours looking up to the night sky, tracking anything that moved, imagining what lay beyond. Splashes of deep colors streaked the view. Purples, dark blues, and undefined gray clouds came together in a magnificent tapestry dotted with pinpoint evidence of other worlds.

Eldorado
“It’ll cost you.” Bonney drawled laconically, over the top of his dusty boots crossed on the scarred table top, to the scientist trembling in front of him. He pursed his lips, turned his head and spat a thin stream of brown tobacco juice into the spittoon at his side.

The Mobility Scooter and the Sea
The Mobility Scooter and the Sea By Ashley Michael Day Merryn Penrose drove her mobility scooter down the steep inclining road to Mullion Cove. A remote Victorian harbour off the rugged Cornish coast. A solid stone structure with a looming harbour wall nestled between two towering jagged cliffs. It was a wild spot. Filled with the sounds of crashing waves and shrieking gulls.

The 9th planet
As I watched the mailman make his way towards my mailbox I started to fill with excitement. As I walked out of my apartment to get the mail that was just placed in my mailbox, my excitement turned to nervousness. I opened my mailbox, it's finally here. The letter I've been waiting on for almost a month now. Once I got back inside my apartment, I sat the letter on my table unable to open it. I just starred at the it, nervous to read the results. After what felt like hours, I finally opened the letter. "Dear Sahara Rose, we are excited to inform you that you have been selected as a winner of the science fiction writing contest! You, along with seven other people, have won the chance to explore the new planet!" Excitement once again flowed through me. I almost didn't even finish reading the letter before I started planning my trip.

The In-Between
The In-Between: Chapter 1 David wasn’t sleeping well. For the past week, he had been tossing and turning through the night, causing his girlfriend, Claire undo stress as well. He couldn’t pinpoint what the problem was. He had been on a diet for the past month and stopped eating two hours before bed. He stopped staying up watching TV when he started his diet since being well-rested helped in losing weight, or so they had told him at the doctor’s office and the nutritionist’s. It was true he was on the obese end of the Body Mass Index scale. He had sleep apnea causing him to stop breathing several times a minute for several seconds and he had to utilize a CPAP machine to help force air through his nostrils to keep breathing while asleep. But he had sleep apnea for years, nothing changed there. He didn’t smoke and drank on the occasional occasion. He couldn’t understand why he wasn’t sleeping well.

The Time Merchant
Manfred stood uncomfortably hot in the middle of the dusty African kraal. Behind him stood his tall, dark assistant dressed, like Manfred, in European clothes of the time period, entirely inappropriate for the African heat. In front of him sitting cross-legged on a short stool, was a middle-aged man of tightly controlled energy, tall and dark with sinewy muscles and not an ounce of fat. The man sat resplendent in leopard skins and black widow bird feathers adorning his waist and loins. White oxtail hairs fluttered on his biceps and thighs as he lazily beat away flies with an oxtail whisk; the motion only hinting at the constrained vigor in his eyes.
