Introductions, Please
Introductions, Please I would like to introduce myself and no doubt there will be negative reactions to what I have to say in this post and any posts that may follow. To save you time looking up my profile and seeing what I have posted I will tell you upfront. I am a 55-year-old white American Christian male. The fact that I am a 55-year-old person should not factor in anyone’s view of me, yet it will. The fact that I am a person of Caucasian descent should not factor into anyone’s view of me, yet it will. The fact that I am an American should not factor into anyone’s view of me, yet it will. The fact that I believe in Jesus Christ and that he is the Messiah should not factor into anyone’s view of me, yet it will. The fact that I am a male should not factor into anyone’s view of me, yet it will. The fact that I do not think as you, should not factor into anyone’s view of me, yet it will. The fact that I do not have the same beliefs as you should not factor into anyone’s view of me, yet it will. My actions and MY actions alone should factor into anyone’s view of me, but many will allow preconceived biases to shape their judgment of me. And before anyone asks, What about speech? I would put that under actions as much as writing. When you express your thoughts and beliefs, that is an action, as much as physical actions are.

Raised By a Dragon
Raised By a Dragon Tobias awoke to the thunderous noise in the distance. His massive head rose to sniff the air. Anger grew in his breast as the scent of his age-old foe drifted to his sensitive nostrils. Somewhere, outside his cavern were men. Not only men but men of war for he could smell the unmistakable scent of iron and steel mixed with the blood of men and beast alike. The noise that had awoken him was the noise of battle, steel upon steel, and the twang of bows and crossbow strings. Other sounds came with those of battle. The soft whimpering of women and children. In all his days, he had never encountered another creature with as little respect for life as the race of men. Even Tobias’ bloodthirsty cousins, before they were driven into exile within the bowels of the earth, could not compete with the brutality and vicious nature of the race of men.

Sleeping Nude
Sleeping Nude David lay awake watching the ceiling fan spin. It was suspended from a long metal rod attached to the rafters above. He looked past the fan to the loft above him. Susan had opted to sleep in the bedroom rather than the loft since it had a king-size bed. The loft had two twin beds that overlooked the bedroom. He slowly drifted off to sleep as the blizzard and ceiling fan lulled him to sleep. The heater was working overtime with the blizzard bearing down on the small cabin. He was grateful that they had installed the generator the previous year and added a second three-hundred-gallon propane tank for the heating system. The pantry was stocked with enough supplies to last a month. Susan lay next to him, sound asleep even with the wind howling all about the cabin. She had been asleep for several hours before David drifted off to La La Land. A knock on the cabin door shocked David and Susan out of their slumber.

The In-Between
The In-Between: Chapter 1 David wasn’t sleeping well. For the past week, he had been tossing and turning through the night, causing his girlfriend, Claire undo stress as well. He couldn’t pinpoint what the problem was. He had been on a diet for the past month and stopped eating two hours before bed. He stopped staying up watching TV when he started his diet since being well-rested helped in losing weight, or so they had told him at the doctor’s office and the nutritionist’s. It was true he was on the obese end of the Body Mass Index scale. He had sleep apnea causing him to stop breathing several times a minute for several seconds and he had to utilize a CPAP machine to help force air through his nostrils to keep breathing while asleep. But he had sleep apnea for years, nothing changed there. He didn’t smoke and drank on the occasional occasion. He couldn’t understand why he wasn’t sleeping well.

All Preppers Are Crazy
All Preppers Are Crazy Joshua had heard it time after time from his wife Kimberly of twenty-one years, how he and all preppers were crazy. She argued that he spent too much money on things they would never use. Their garage was lined with shelves of Emergency long-term foods supplies, small propane gas containers, blankets, glass jugs of purified water, and anything else Joshua thought they might need in case of a catastrophe. They even had a generator large enough to run their entire home. In the twenty-two years that Kimberly had known Joshua nothing had ever happened. His paternal grandparents had raised Joshua after his parents had been killed by a drunk driver when Joshua was ten. His grandparents had grown up during the depression, having children late in life. They had taught Joshua to be prepared for anything that could happen from financial collapse to a blizzard, a hurricane pandemic, or anything that would spell doom to the human race or at least to their small corner of the world.

Terra Archaios
Flight from Ceres Three days passed before the crew, warriors and the captives all awoke. Jake was astonished to find that Galantine’s warriors had brought on board sixty-four people. They were huddled in small groups throughout a ship designed for a complement of a hundred and fifty. Now the ship had a complement of a hundred and sixty passengers, but well within the feasible complement intended for the Odysseus, even if it meant cramped quarters for some. It was a good thing that GalaxyX had decided to equip the ship with the maximum fuel and provisions. The ship’s oxygen recycler and hydroponics would be able to assist in producing the additional fresh oxygen needs of the passengers.

Terra Archaios
Chapter 2: Inside Ceres Mira led Jake down the long corridor until she came to an opening in the far wall the size of a normal man, that is to say, if a normal man was ten feet as tall as the soldiers were. The soldiers were able to transverse the hallway two side by side. A brilliant green stone was embedded in the wall above the entrance, with a light that shone through the stone, bathing the entrance in a greenish hue. A strange mist hung in the doorway.

H&K: Path of Knowledge
Chapter 22 Hank stripped down to his T-shirt and pants. He placed the HK45 on the bed next to him as he lay down. His shirt and shoes sat in the chair next to the bed. Hank had moved Sarasin’s laptop to the desk across from the bed but kept the files and folders to look through. Hank was glancing through the records of the members of the unit when he opened up Jerome’s file. Twenty-four years old. No parents. Born in Dallas, Texas. Raised as a ward of the state. Blood type, A positive. His training mirrored his own. Something about the file didn’t look right.
