He walked out of the shadows where he had stayed hidden for so long. He was her shadow man for so long but no more. The love they had always felt for each other has blossomed over the months after their last visit. Much time was spent growing and evolving into the couple they are today. In the years prior theirs was a push and pull relationship. So many emotions and so many struggles. With time, they learned how important they were to each other. They learned to express better and more importantly, how to communicate. Days stretched into nights and nights stretched into beautiful mornings.

They often talked about how all this happened and how magical it really was. They decided not to ask why anymore because it really didn’t matter. It just was and that’s all that mattered. Their story really was a fairytale come true. He was without a doubt her knight and she his queen. In his arms she knew she was home. Every moment spent together became amazing and each seemed to be better than the one the time before. WOW became the word they used the most when they were together. There was no longer any question...this was love.

The warehouse helped bring them together but many years before, there was a different warehouse, a different time in their lives. He doesn’t remember her from all those years ago but she remembered him the moment they met again years later. It was some 11 years ago that she met him for the first time. Sadly she did not even catch his eye. His visits to the warehouse were few and far between. She would see him, acknowledge his presence and then he was gone. She never forgot him or the way she thought he was so friggin good lookin. The few times she could manage to get close enough to him, she thought his vibes were so beautiful. At that time...it just wasn’t meant to be.

Then they lost each other as the warehouse was closed. She remembered him the first time she laid eyes on him many years later. The cool dude. The one who still had the same great vibes. Their lives were different now but one thing never changed...the way she felt drawn to him. Like a moth to a flame. He seemed at first, uninterested but the more they saw each other the more it became apparent that a connection was forming. He searched for her and her for him around every corner, down every hallway, until they would find each other and a simple hug was exchanged. At that time, the hug seemed to be enough to satisfy the soul.

At that time she had someone else in her life but couldn’t deny she felt an unusual craving that had her thinking of him time and time again. His hugs came with a tremble that she did not understand. Was he scared? Was he afraid to feel too much? She didn’t know. Time went on and so did their lives. Thoughts of him would come and go and she wondered if he thought of her from time to time. Then she lost him a second time. Once again, at that time, it just wasn’t meant to be.

Some time later he would appear as if he too was being drawn to her. The once in a while reunion was glorious for her, for in his presence she felt a calmness and a peace like no other. As quickly as he would appear, he would disappear. She missed him, her once in a while friend and hoped that he missed her too. Then for reasons unknown he was there to stay, every weekend, at a new warehouse. Her current relationship began to have it’s ups and downs. Both were to blame. Some things no matter how much we put into it, just aren’t meant to be. Frustration, isolation, depression and anger became the clothes she would wear. She didn’t know what she wanted or who for that matter. Things became tense and emotions ran high. Words were spoken that could not be forgotten and then there was a deafening silence. Sometimes it’s the silence that really speaks volumes. She knew she was done! Done with it all.

Days turned into weeks of awkward glances and unspoken words. Time does truly heal and after all the dust cleared she needed to heal. They both did. Visits came slowly and sporadically. The time to forgive was beginning. The letting go of her current relationship was difficult but clearly what was needed for all involved. However, she came to realize that she needed to work on herself and love herself before she could let anyone into her world. Her walls were high and almost impenetrable. He slowly and cautiously would approach her, as a friend. Wanting no more than to be there for her if she needed him. Everything about him seemed to have changed. He seemed to be such a better man. Calmer, more at peace with himself and the world around him. She liked him like this.

Time marched on and their friendship grew and evolved. They had their ups and downs but managed to work through them. He was truly kind and caring. When she needed space, space is what he gave her. All the while making sure she knew, that should she need him, he was a phone call away. His ability to simply listen to her when she needed to speak was amazing. She began to feel comfortable in the company of this man. He remained in the shadows of her world for a long time, waiting for her patiently. Determined to be the best friend she wanted and needed. She knew how he felt about her and admired the fact that he was silently keeping it to himself. She saw the struggle and often thought to herself how much torture it must be to love someone so deeply and not be able to say it.

Until one day…”I’m just going to say it” was the text she received. With her heart beating quickly “Say what?” was her reply. The next text took her breath away. “I think I love you” At that very moment, she knew everything was about to change. Through all the bullshit and struggles, through all the times she pushed him away, through all the angry words...he stayed. He hoped and he waited. He changed his life for her. He became a better man for her. He loved her silently for her. Everything he had done was with her in mind. She could no longer deny that she was falling for him too. For the first time in her life she felt worthy of this love. Of his love.

It took some time before she could repeat those words back to him. She needed to be sure when she said them it wasn’t just an automatic response. She needed to mean it. She needed him to understand that it would take a little longer for her to express it, and he did. When the day came that she could say it the world stopped turning, everything became clear and beautiful and it would change her forever. Change them BOTH forever. The days, weeks and months that followed seemed to run together endlessly. The more time spent together only strengthened the bond. Making the connection seem hundreds of years old. The beauty of their love was like no other.

The fiery passion flows like an unobstructed river. The 2 hearts now beat as one and the soul connection grows stronger every day. She affectionately called him her shadow man because of how long he stayed in the dark waiting for her. She no longer refers to him as such. He is hidden no more and neither is their love for each other. Destiny or fate? Maybe. No matter what brought them together through all the trials and tribulations, it was meant to be. A warehouse brought them together, a simple hug kept bringing them back to each other and a deep love connection will keep them together...ALWAYS!

All my love always- G.
