Why not do something different this Valentine's Day? Make a delicious salad that will suit you and your guests. Look through the different salads shown below and choose one that you would like to serve on Valentine's Day. You might already have the ingredients on hand to make at least one of the salads.

All the salads are quick and easy to make. If you are looking for appearance, they all fit that description. Also, they are all healthy and delicious.

1. Valentine's Day Salad with Oranges

If you love oranges, put them in a Valentine's Day salad. This salad is easy to make with lots of red and orange colors. For the salad, use fresh greens, navel orange slices, cara cara orange slices, blood orange slices, thin slices of red onion, strawberry slices, slices of avocado, and crumbled goat cheese. The salad is healthy and looks too pretty to eat.

2. Valentine's Day Salad with Beets

Perhaps you don't want any red or orange colors in your salad. Don't worry there is another Valentine's Day color you can use. It takes only about ten minutes to make this salad with its deep purple. The few ingredients include mixed salad greens, cooked beets, extra virgin olive oil, and salt to taste.

Cut a little indentation in the cooked beets to make them resemble hearts. You can use another dressing other than olive oil. Feel free to top the salad with fresh mozzarella cubes.

3. Valentine’s Day Salad with Bacon Roses and Strawberry Hearts

It takes a little creativity to make this salad that includes just three main ingredients: baby spinach, strips of bacon, and strawberries. Roll strips of bacon loosely to look like flowers. Bake the bacon roses in the oven until they get brown and crisp. Cut slices of strawberries to look like hearts. Place the rose bacon and the strawberry hearts onto a bed of spinach or other fresh greens of your choice. Use one of your favorite dressings.

4. Valentine's Day Salad with Edible Flowers

This salad with edible flowers is easy and fun to make. There are only a few ingredients: arugula , edible flowers , strawberries , and sliced almonds.

Arugula is a good vegetable to include in a salad because it is packed with nutrients and antioxidants. Some popular edible flowers include hibiscus, lilacs, carnations, and roses. Choose the flower or combination of flowers that appeal to you. Make sure you choose one of the flowers listed because not all flowers are edible. In fact, some are poisonous. Also, keep in mind that the flowers do not have to be eaten. You might use them for decoration if you like or leave them out entirely.

Strawberries are a welcome treat to any salad. Besides, they are packed with vitamins. Add sliced almonds for a healthy topping that gives the salad a nice crunch. Use the salad dressing of your choice, but a vinaigrette will be healthy and delicious.

5. Heart-Shaped Fruit Salad

Perhaps you don't want a salad with fresh greens, and you want a fruit salad instead. Don't worry, here is one you can make with just fruit with Valentine's Day colors. You are not limited to using only the fruits shown above: pomegranate seeds, strawberries, and blackberries. Fill the middle with the pomegranate seeds, cut strawberries in half, and blackberries.

Actually, you can choose red, orange, and purple fruits. Then arrange the pieces into a heart. You can top the salad with sliced almonds or whipped cream. The healthy fruit salad can be eaten at lunch as a meal or you can eat it as a dessert.
