Each Herb helps your body in all different ways. At the end of the day, I like to relax with a herb called chamomile. Two years ago I grew chamomile and harvested the flowers. I dried the flowers and I put the dried flowers in a special spoon and had tea. Chamomile tea helps you sleep and if your nervous it will calm the nerves down. I have been drinking this tea for a long time. I put a teaspoon of honey, hot water and, the herb chamomile. One can buy the tea at any grocery store, I also buy the tea with Lavender, I am very fond of the lavender and chamomile tea it tastes great and it will relax you a lot. The tea costs around $2.75 but it is well worth buying it! One can buy this tea in any grocery store

PARSLEY :

Parsley is a herb and it is very good for your body. I use it in most of my recipes. There are two types of parsley, the leaf is flat and the other parsley the leaf is curly. Parsley is known as a medical herb its a diuretic and it strengthens the digestive system. It is good for your Kidney and also for your bladder. Parsley has a lot of vitamins and minerals, I add parsley to salads, and many other recipes I cook. Parsley also has Iron, potassium, and vitamin C. Parsley is a herb worth using in many different recipes. One should not cook the herb because it will lose a lot of its nutrients.

Here is a Recipe for Parsley: 1/4 cup pine nuts 1 tablespoon of wine vinegar 1 tablespoon dijon mustard 1/2 teaspoon salt 1/8 teaspoon of fresh ground black pepper 1 1/2 quarts lightly packed curly parsley leaves 2 scallions cut into thin slices even the tops 1 1/2 cups halved cut cherry tomatoes 1/4 pound cut mushrooms. In a small frying pan toast the pine nuts until light brown, in a medium bowl whisk together the wine vinegar, mustard, salt and, pepper and add the oil slowly and whisk together, Add the tomatoes, mushrooms, scallions, and parsley and toss. Add the pine nuts on top of the salad.

LAVENDER:

Lavender is a herb used in aromatherapy, the oils from the herb can calm the nerves, it reduces stress, anxiety and, even mild pain. The oils from the flowers are used to make medicine. It is used for depression and pain after surgery. Lavender can be eaten and brewed as a tea. I like to buy Chamomile and lavender tea. The tea is consumed before bedtime which helps with insomnia and calms the nerves. This tea is great with a teaspoon for honey. Lavender is a great herb and there are many uses for it. Here is how to make lavender tea: Boil 8oz of water put 4teaspoon of fresh lavender buds into a tea ball or sachet, place the tea ball into the cup and let steep for 10 minutes. Enjoy the tea with your favorite cookie.

MINT:

Mint is a soothing relief on your stomach ache. Mint is a herb to use in stews, and when cooking tomato sauce. My mom would put a leaf or two in the spaghetti sauce. Growing Mint is simple to do and you will have it on hand to help you relax. It is also good for summer headaches and sluggishness. I was introduced to this herb when I was younger and I have been using it ever since. Mint also helps with pimples because it has strong antibacterial properties. Mint also helps you with High Blood Pressure. Try making mint tea, if you have fresh mint leaves making tea is really simple to do. Put water to boil, if you have an electric teapot use it, put 8 mint leaves in a cup, pour boiling water over them. Let the cup steep for 5 minutes. Enjoy this tea with your favorite cookie.

BASIL:

Basil is a herb that will help for stomach problems and is an anti-inflammatory. Basil will soothe a fever, colds, cough, and also flu symptoms. Basil can help with depression and helps with anxiety and a very good anti-stress herb. The herb also helps with diabetes too, it also supports liver function. Basil detoxifies the body, it also heals an upset stomach. I like to use Basil in many recipes, like stews, sauces, chicken, potatoes, etc. You can also use fresh Basil in drinks too. And it is an herb you can grow outside or inside your home. The best recipe to add Basil in tomato sauce. Basil is better fresh but I have used dried Basil too.

OREGANO:

Oregano is used in many Italian recipes, I am 1/2 Italian and I put Oregano in soups, sauces, on chicken, potatoes, and in all the salads I make. The herb helps with the antibacterial agent in your body. You can drink Oregano tea but do not drink too much tea it will give you an upset stomach. Oregano can help with arthritis and help with urinary tract infections. If you have allergies Oregano will help with that too! You can grow Oregano in your home or outside your home. It is best to pick the herb when it reaches 4 to 5 inches. Picking the herb before it flowers will give you the best of the herb. Oregano will come back year after year.

GINGER:

Ginger is a great herb it is used as a nausea medicine. I live in Alaska and when I go fishing on a boat I take ginger. One can buy Ginger in most grocery stores. It is fairly inexpensive to buy and lasts a while in the refrigerator. I also use Ginger in many recipes in which I bake. Ginger also helps with the common cold and the flu. Ginger is a powerful antioxidant and can help with morning sickness. Taking ginger also helps with weight loss and helps lower cholesterol. There are a lot of recipes in which this herb is used. Making ginger tea is a great way to get all that the herb as to offer to help your body. Ginger tea: wash the ginger and cut up an inch of the ginger in slices, put the ginger in a small saucepan. Add a cup of fresh water, boil the water for five minutes, pour the ginger thru a fine sieve if you would like add honey, sugar, or syrup, and enjoy!
