For on-the-go survival food, check out these quick and simple jerky recipes. For outdoor sports, emergency scenarios, or whenever you need a portable and protein-rich snack, jerky is a terrific choice.

1. Classic Beef Jerky:

  • 1 pound (450g) of lean beef, thinly cut (for example, flank steak or sirloin).
  • 1-fourth cup soy sauce
  • 2/oz. Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tsp. of honey or maple syrup
  • Garlic powder, 1 teaspoon
  • One tablespoon of onion powder
  • Black pepper, 1/2 tsp.
  • For extra heat, add a half teaspoon of cayenne.

Instructions:

a. In a bowl, combine the marinade's components.

b. Stir the marinade well before adding the thinly sliced beef.

c. Put the bowl in the fridge with the cover on, preferably overnight, to marinate.

d. Use a food dehydrator or preheat your oven to 175°F (80°C).

e. Place the beef slices on a baking sheet or dehydrator tray after marinating.

f. Dehydrate or bake the beef for 4-6 hours, depending on how chewy and dry you want it to be.

g. After allowing it to cool, keep it in an airtight jar for a quick snack.

b. Include the thinly sliced turkey in the marinade, being sure to coat it thoroughly.

c. Put the bowl in the fridge for at least two to three hours, ideally overnight.

d. Use a food dehydrator or preheat your oven to 175°F (80°C).

e. On a baking sheet or dehydrator tray, arrange the marinated turkey slices.

f. Bake or dehydrate the turkey jerky for 3–4 hours, depending on how dry you like it.

g. After allowing it to cool, keep it in an airtight jar for easy access.

3. Spicy Salmon Jerky:

Ingredients:

  • Skinless, thinly sliced salmon fillet weighing one pound (450 grams).
  • 1-fourth cup soy sauce
  • 2 teaspoons of rice vinegar
  • Honey, one tablespoon
  • 1 teaspoon red pepper flakes (modify the amount to your personal heat level)
  • 50% of a teaspoon of garlic powder
  • 1/3 of a teaspoon of onion powder

Instructions:

a. Soy sauce, rice vinegar, honey, red pepper flakes, garlic powder, and onion powder should all be combined in a bowl.

b. Stir the marinade well before adding the thinly sliced fish.

c. Cover the bowl and place it in the fridge to marinate for 2-4 hours.

d. Use a food dehydrator or preheat your oven to 175°F (80°C).

e. On a baking sheet or dehydrator tray, arrange the marinated salmon slices.

f. Bake or dehydrate the salmon jerky for a couple of hours until it is dry on the outside and moist in the middle.

g. For your on-the-go survival food, cool it down and put it in an airtight container.

Always adjust the recipes to your personal tastes for flavor and the ingredients you have on hand. Jerky can be kept for a fair amount of time and is a great portable food option. To preserve its quality and freshness, store the jerky in a cool, dry location when it has completely dried out. Enjoy the jerky that you produced yourself in a snap!
