Mac and Cheese Muffins Recipe
It is quick and easy to make mac and cheese muffins for your entire family.
Most people have comfort foods they turn to when they are not feeling great. There are many comfort foods they could choose, but most people choose what they know will quickly help them when they feel down in the dumps. Once people find a comfort food that works for them, they tend to stick with it, because they know what it will do for them. They tend not to consider other options.
A lot of people choose mac and cheese as their comfort food. However, they might not know that their mac and cheese fix doesn't have to be limited to the meal being scooped out of a bowl, or eaten from a plate with a fork. Even though those are the most common ways to eat macaroni and cheese, there is another way to eat it.
Mac and Cheese: The ideal comfort food.
The combination of macaroni and cheese is on every list of comfort foods, and often it is near the top. While the taste of it is definitely good, a study shows much more about comfort foods.
Shira Gabriel, a professor at the University of Buffalo, found that comfort foods are associated with memories of our childhood. We often think of certain foods along with the circumstances that were happening when we first grew fond of them. So, when we eat mac and cheese as comfort foods, it is not because there are any magic ingredients in the dish. It is because of the memory and association we had with our mothers who first introduced us to the combination.
Gabriel explained that she discovered through her study that comfort foods are often those that our caregivers gave us when we were children. We are drawn to that food as adults, especially if there was a good relationship with the person who introduced us to the food.
The mac and cheese meal side dish is so popular that it might appear on dinner tables more often than other side dishes. If you want to branch out from your traditional recipe, try making macaroni and cheese muffins. Then you can pick one up with your hands, and eat it just like you eat other muffins.
