Below you will find a free list of negative calorie foods, but first, let's consider what that means. There is no such thing as negative calories - a calorie is a unit of heat and it cannot be negative. So when people talk about negative calorie foods, it means that foods that are high in calorie levels are low enough that it takes more energy to eat and digest.

For example, if you consider water as a food, cold water is definitely a negative calorie diet. It contains no calories and the body has to expend energy to bring it to blood temperature. So each time we drink a glass of cold water, we burn a couple of calories and lose some weight. But these kinds of foods are very few. Most of the foods on the list don't really use more calories than they add, or if they do, the effect is negligible ... at the same time until you remember that the body expends energy to stay alive and breathe. For example, celery does not provide enough calories to compensate for both the energy it takes to digest it and the energy we expend when we do nothing. So people call it a negative calorie diet.

Negative calorie foods are more attractive to anorexics. A negative calorie diet can certainly cause hunger in the long run, and nutritional deficiencies can occur surprisingly quickly. Burned calories usually come from muscle mass, and the result is weakness and atrophy.

A more healthy way to use a negative calorie diet is a form of fasting or detoxification. You can do this for one to three days after the Christmas season or when you are eating more rich foods. If you are healthy, this is a great way to clean the system. However, it is still best to take medical advice before attempting this.

If you decide to use a negative calorie detox, keep in mind the following:

1. It is never good to eat one type of food, especially fruit. Most foods contain harmful ingredients if consumed in excess. For example, the acid in grapefruit and pineapple can damage the lining of your stomach. Other foods can exert a heavy burden on the liver or cause diarrhea. So try to use all the different foods in small quantities.

2. Do not dine throughout the day. You will just swell up and feel sick. If you only do this for a couple of days, you shouldn't feel too hungry. Plan four or five salad meals each day and rest your digestion at other times.

3. You will be more satisfied if you eat slowly and chew your food thoroughly. That way you also consume more calories. So being able to eat foods raw is more effective than cooking them. Foods such as carrots and beets are more satisfying if you eat them grated.

4. Set aside time when you have no major commitments. Like fasting or any type of detox, you may experience some unpleasant symptoms, including headaches, tiredness, depression, and irritability. If it is severe, stop eating and visit a doctor.

5. When you end detoxification, plan to gradually return to a normal diet.
