Who says, “Going vegan you must give up tasty, delicious desserts because your ingredients can’t have the traditional dairy products that give it that flavorful and delightful taste”. Well, I am here to squash this untrue stereotype that has been said a lot with these amazing vegan dessert options. So, the next time you hear, say, or think this just remember these three recipes.

About 6 months ago I decided that I needed a change... A healthier lifestyle to look better, feel better, and just live better. After countless failed diets that didn’t work out and hundreds of dollars spent on diet pills and programs, I finally said enough was enough. It got to be a better long-lasting option for a healthier lifestyle. So after a while of self-doubt and almost giving up I came across the idea of going vegan which I got from my older sister. You see she is a vegetarian not by her own choice but for health reasons. She physically can’t eat meat and dairy or it will cause her terrible health problems so because of this she was forced to make that transition which was even harder for her because things are not always easy when you are being forceed to change something. Anyways as I was on the verge of just giving up and accepting my situation of never going to be in the right state of health I thought about my sister and how she has lost so much weight overall and just looks and feels good ever since she went vegetarian. So as I was in this pitiful state of mind, I had this thought. “maybe I should try going vegan to help with my situation.” I mean it does not hurt to try because I literally tried everything, and it did not work. And to my surprise, it worked because I can now say that this transition has really changed my eating habits and overall lifestyle completely. So, if you were in the same situation as me and are fed up with your situation, you should think about going vegan! The transition from a meat lover to going vegan is a hard process that takes a lot of self-discipline and self-control but the two and tasty meals that you cannot believe its vegan will help you survive this journey on going vegan. One big thing that really helps me survive this hard, dare I say painful transition was YouTube. YouTube had so many people sharing their vegan recipes to choose from that I had the pleasure of trying and testing out. And this helped me a lot having those options. My favorite part of this journey was trying out the many vegan dessert recipes YouTube had to offer. Since this girl loves me some desserts, I got not one, not two but three must-try vegan desserts that will help satisfy that sweet tooth without having to bore your taste buds.

1. Vegan Cinnamon Rolls

http://thechicisnatural.com/best-cinnamon-rolls/

My first option here is a classic dessert made vegan, cinnamon rolls. These cinnamons roll that is to die for and a must-have you will not regret your decision of testing this vegan dessert out. When you bite into these very delicious rolls you will say, “Wow, that’s vegan.” When I first came across this recipe I was like, “Yes some vegan cinnamon rolls because this girl right here absolutely loves this dessert and had always eaten this dessert a lot before I went vegan so finding this recipe was a relief and lifesaver for my sweet cravings. What I like most about this dessert is that it has the perfect balance of softness, flakiness, gooeyness which makes this dessert absolutely delicious. This recipe is great for an afternoon or mourning (I am not judging you because I do it all the time) snack. So, if you love cinnamon rolls as much as I do but want to try out this vegan option then you should try this one out.

Ingredients:

1 cup almond milk , 1 tsp sugar , 1 1/2 packets rapid rise yeast , 1/4 cup sugar , 1/3 cup vegan butter, melted, 1 tsp salt , 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour , 2 tbsp coconut oil, melted, 3/4 cup brown sugar , 3 tbsp cinnamon , 2 tsp sugar , 1/2 cup powdered sugar , 3 tbsp almond milk

Directions:

1. Warm almond milk to about 100 degrees and pour in a large bowl. Add 1 tsp sugar and yeast. Mix and let sit for about 10 minutes to activate.

2. Add 1/4 cup sugar, vegan butter, salt, and flour and mix until it forms a soft and slightly sticky dough.

3. On a floured surface roll out the dough into a large rectangle then brush the surface with melted coconut oil.

4. Combine brown sugar, cinnamon, and sugar in a small bowl, sprinkle onto dough then smooth evenly with the back of a spoon.

5. Starting at the long end, roll the dough up into a log then slice off rolls about 1 1/2″ wide.

6. Place rolls onto greased 9×9 baking pan, cover with plastic wrap and let rest for about 20 minutes to fluff up.

7. Bake for 20 minutes at 350 degrees until rolls are golden brown.

8. While rolls are baking prepare frosting by mixing the powdered sugar and almond milk.

9. Once rolls are done baking drizzle with frosting.

Yields about 9 cinnamon rolls.

2. Chocolate Chip Pizookie

Now my second dessert is for our chocolate chip cookie pizza dessert lovers. With just 9 ingredients you can turn this cookie dough into a mind-blowing cookie pizza. Now you can eat this pizza all by itself(or if you’re like me and like to be extra) or you can add some non-dairy ice cream with chocolate drizzle on the top to take this remarkable dessert to the next level to just give your taste buds an even more satisfying kick because hey who doesn’t like ice cream with cookies? This dessert is great for special occasions or family and friend’s gatherings. What is so great about this dessert is that it tastes just like a chocolate chip cookie which I love. Like I am all for vegan substitutes that taste just like the real thing so without doubt try this one out, my cookie lovers.

Ingredients:

1 cup all-purpose flour, 1/4 cup vegan butter, melted,1/8 cup coconut oil, softened, 1/4 cup maple syrup, 1 tsp vanilla extract, 1/2 tsp baking powder, 1/4 cup corn starch, a dash of salt, 1/2 cup cacao nibs, or chocolate chips

Directions:

1. In a large bowl mix all ingredients except chocolate chips. Once combined, stir in chocolate chips.

2. Bake in 5″ skillet at 350 degrees for about 15 minutes until cookie is lightly browned.

3. Strawberry cheesecake bites

For our strawberry and cheesecake lovers, this recipe is the perfect match for you to try out because it is looks and taste INCREDIBLE! Now this one is my favorite of them all because it tastes absolutely amazon and easy to make too. it’s a no-bake recipe, so you don’t need an oven for this one, so this one is great for those lazy or busy days. I mean I have plenty of days where I am just lazy or in a rush and I do not feel like spending too much time cooking something in the oven so this one has saved me a lot of time and patience for one of them days. The base is just graham crackers mixed with vegan butter, the filling is just raw cashews, bananas, maple syrup, coconut oil, lemon juice, and vanilla extract. And for the strawberry topping, you will need to blend strawberries, dates to sweeten it up, and lemon juice. Once everything is placed in a muffin pan you just slide that in the freezer for an hour to set and it's ready to enjoy. My favorite part of this recipe is the strawberry filling that has such an amazing taste to top off this cheesecake goodness. This dessert is great for a simple snack on the go.

Ingredients:

1 cup raw cashews, 3 tablespoons coconut oil, liquified, Juice of 1/2 a lemon, 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract, 4 tablespoons maple syrup, 1/2 ripe banana, 6 whole graham crackers, 3 tablespoons vegan butter, 4 large strawberries, 3 dates, pitted, 1 tablespoon lemon juice freshly squeezed.

Directions:

1. Base- Crush graham crackers and mix with melted butter to form the crust. Press mixture evenly into the bottoms of cupcake molds.

2. Filling- Place cashews, coconut oil, juice of half a lemon, vanilla extract, syrup, and banana in blender and process until smooth and creamy. Pour evenly on top of graham cracker base.

3. Topping- In a blender, process the strawberries, date,s and lemon juice and spread on top of the filling layer.

4. Freeze for about an hour or until filling is firm throughout.

5. Gently lift the cakes out of the molds and enjoy! (Yields 6 cheesecake minis. Store in refrigerator.)
