5 Non-Dairy/Vegan Desserts for Your Sweet Tooth

If you are anything like me, you must eat something sweet every day. I give myself a special treat for making it through another work day. In my adult years, I have unfortunately become allergic to dairy. My options are always limited to what I can purchase when it comes to desserts. One day while I was grocery shopping, I came across Ben & Jerry's Non-Dairy Ice Cream. I could not believe my eyes, and I knew it was too good to be true. I checked the back for the ingredients and there was no dairy listed. I bought it and took it home and instantly I was hooked. I haven't had ice cream since I was a kid, so finding this was like finding gold. I immediately started searching to see if there were other dairy free desserts and guess what? There are tons! You just have to know what to look for. I have created a small list of non-dairy desserts that will have your sweet tooth thanking me.

Baileys

Baileys is on the list first. They recently graced our presence with the new Baileys Almande. Almande is Bailey's version of a non-dairy vegan alcoholic beverage. “A delicious and light tasting spirit from Baileys made with real almond milk. This smooth spirit blends the luscious, nutty flavors of real almond milk and real vanilla to create a versatile drink." Ifnyou are looking for some drink ideas try making the Baileys Almande Refresh. This consists of 3oz Almande and 3oz of Coconut Water served over ice. Or you could try making Baileys Frozen Frappe which consists of Baileys Almande and ice blended and served. This drink is currently in stores now.

Ben and Jerry's

Ben and Jerry's now has non-dairy ice cream in 7 different delicious flavors. What makes this ice cream different from the traditional is that it is made with almond milk. The first of 7 flavors are the Caramel Almond Brittle, a sweet dessert with caramel swirls and pieces of almond brittle. The Cherry Garcia is next with cherries and fudge flakes just like the original Cherry Garcia. Continuing with the different flavors the Coconut Seven Layer Bar is next with fudge chunks, walnuts, & swirls of graham cracker & caramel. For the chocolate lovers, they have Chocolate Fudge Brownie which has fudge brownies. Next, we have the classic and sweet Chunky Monkey with fudge chunks and walnuts. There’s also something for the coffee lovers out there it’s called the Coffee Caramel Fudge which has fudge chunks and a caramel swirl. Finally, the last flavor is P.B. & Cookies which consists of chocolate sandwich cookies and crunchy peanut butter swirls.

Daiya

Daiya has come up with another favorite to add to their already growing line of dairy-free products. This time they are reaching out to our sweet tooth with 4 different flavors of dairy- free cheese cake. The New York Cheesecake is described as “Rich, velvety and deeply satisfying. A delicious, guilt-free indulgence infused with real vanilla and lots of dairy-free love." Another classic is the Strawberry Cheesecake, which is described as “bursting with the sweet, natural flavor of real strawberries." Another one for the chocolate lovers is the Chocolate Cheesecake which is described as “Rich, creamy and smooth." The fourth and final flavor is the Key Lime Cheesecake and is described as “a sweet and tangy delight."

Nomoo Cookies

Nomoo Cookies has created a line of dairy free cookies just asking for us to get some Baileys almond milk to dunk it in. They have also created a line separately of vegan cookies that are certified by vegan.org. There are 8 different vegan cookies to choose from and they are Sugah Cinnayum “a sweet sugar cookie made with pure vanilla bean and sprinkled with sugar and spice and everything nice.” Next is the Vanilla Bean Dream and is “made with Madagascar Bourbon vanilla bean paste blended in a sweet sugar batter generously topped with dark rich vanilla bean.” For the chocolate lovers, we have Chocolate Chills and this is “dark decadent with a cool hint of peppermint.” Next is the Citrus Appeal and is described as “a buttery citrus cookie topped with a sweet almond glaze and decorated with a fresh candied orange peel.” Then we have the Classic Chipper which is “dark Belgian chocolate chips and real vanilla bean.” After that we have Loco for Cocoa made with real cocoa and rich Belgium chocolate chips topped with flakes of sea salt. After that is the Oatmeal Choco-Chip “made with dark Belgium chocolate chunks, tangy orange zest and rich molasses giving you a spicy oatmeal cookie.” Finally, is the Raspberry Bliss, "this a blissfully sweet cookie blended with fresh dried raspberries topped with raspberry powder."

Cashew Milk Bars

Last on our list is Cashew Milk Bars. These delicious bars are made from cashew milk making them dairy free!!! There are currently two flavors and they are Double Chocolate Delight and Dipped Salted Caramel. These delicious cashew bars are made by SO Delicious. They have a ton of other dairy free items ranging from ice cream to cool whip. These cashew bars can be found in your local grocery stores today.
