Introduction

Middle Class Love is a romantic comedy movie in the Hindi language that was written and produced by Ratnaa Sinha. Benaras Media Works, under the direction of Anubhav Sinha, produced the work. Starring in it are Prit Kamani, Kavya Thapar, and Eisha Singh. On September 16, 2022, the movie opened in Indian theaters.

One line story theme

An under-marketed, modern narration that emphasizes fundamental, traditional family values sets this film apart from the crowd in a sea of unwatchable movies.

Movie Story

Dad (Manoj Pahwa) is your typical middle-class bank manager who commutes by bike and offers advice on how to cut back on wasteful spending. While his sober elder son enrolls in classes to increase the family's income, his flamboyant second son Yudi (Prit Kamani) is eager to join the upper class. In order to do that, one would have to look down upon Kishanchand College's lower status and join the affluent Oakwood High with the intention of ascending to Saisha Oberoi's cool, upper echelons of society. (Kavya Thapar).

When his dad and his mom Jaya Sharma (Sapna Sand) who runs a lunch catering service from home, pool their savings of Rs 1.5 lakh and send him to Oakwood, Yudi who aspires to be ‘Mussoorie’s sabse cool launda’, feels like Sachin has arrived at Lords.

He would rather rap than be "a halwai," in contrast to his closest friend Pannu Chawla (Omkar Kulkarni), the son of a restaurant owner.

The film's director, Ratnaa Sinha, who also wrote the story, keeps it lighthearted by having Yudi pull practical jokes on Saisha. His arrogance does put him in Saisha's sphere, but she holds out a demand for him to meet because she and Aisha (Eisha Singh) have a long-standing feud. Come to me, hook up with Ash, split up with her, and break her heart.

A little like the 'Chhay din, ladki in' advice that Shah Rukh Khan offered Saif Ali Khan in Kal Ho Naa Ho, Yudi woos Ash.

His friend Pannu, who is watching with alarm, warns him not to harm anyone.

However, Yudi exudes confidence and even gives Lord Ganesh a High Five. Clubbing and paying expenses he can't afford are requirements for being cool. It entails saying, "Awkward nahin," to your middle-class parent. Oakwood”. It also entails throwing away mom's lunch dabbas because he can't be seen carrying them to her clients. And his mother, who is sorry she made him her delivery boy, stands up for him.

Showdowns with Ash and Saisha, at Oakwood, and at home are unavoidable results. Up until he gradually realizes the need to atone for his mistakes and the rap song "Tu kaun hai pehchan le" follows.

Overused and repetitive storyline detracts from the film

Middle-Class Love, a low-budget movie starring Prit Kamani, Kavya Thapar, Eisha Singh, and Manoj Pahwa, is presently playing in theaters, but viewers haven't been particularly impressed. Review of Middle-Class Love is available here.

Everyone will always have fond memories of their time in college and of the connections they had. From skipping classes to hanging out with friends in the canteen, college was wonderful in every way. These were the golden era, and one will remember them for the remainder of their lives. Aside from the fun part, college is where we meet our soul mates or perhaps have many loves.

Middle-Class will surely rekindle some pleasant memories of your undergraduate years and cause a mild case of nostalgia. Numerous Bollywood movies, including Student Of The Year, Main Hoon Na, and Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na, center on collegiate courtship. The lack of anything unique about this movie is an issue. Performances

Prit Kamani portrays Yudhishthir Sharma, also referred to as Yudi, a famous college student. Being cool is his primary life goal. In an effort to meet someone and appear cool, he enrolls at the most prestigious institution, Oakwood institution. Considering that Print is playing a college student, his performance is excellent. He makes sure to seduce you with his boyish charm and his million-dollar grin.

Kavya Thapar makes her Bollywood début as Ms. Popular with Middle-Class Love. Saisha Oberoi, dubbed the campus diva, is who she is. Everyone just wants to be her acquaintance or boyfriend because of her fame. But she has a good spirit. Unlike other famous females we have seen in previous films, Saisha's persona is brave but not snobby, feisty but not rude, and compassionate but not inhumane.

Eisha Singh also makes her Bollywood début with Middle-Class Love. She portrays Ash in the film, a sweetheart despite her tough demeanor and ability to kill you with attractiveness. Ash is a gentle and unassuming girl.

Direction

Middle-Class Love, a forgettable coming-of-age story set in a middle-class setting, is directed by Ratnaa Sinha, who previously directed the 2017 romantic comedy Shaadi Mein Zaroor Aana starring Rajkummar Rao and Kriti Kharbanda. It tells the same story of a college relationship that we have seen countless times before.

We find the second portion to be tedious, despite the fact that the kids were taken into account when writing the screenplay. If it had been a little more coherent, the movie might have been over in two hours. The movie's major selling point was how it portrayed middle-class love. Additionally, Ratana used all the techniques necessary to turn the script into a full-fledged Bollywood movie.

Movie Pros and Cons

The plot of the script by Yash Keswani and Sima Agarwal follows a well-worn, even safe, path. There are unnecessary additions, such as the avoidable song "Naya pyaar," but the music (by Himesh Reshammiya) and picturizations are in line with the youthful mood, like Yudi's date with Ash at the carnival. There are also no chart-toppers. Suraj Gianani's dialogue is upbeat, despite the excessive use of the words "bathroom" and "su-su in the pool" as well as the standard rhyming phrases "Cool and funny like Bugs Bunny" and "Chawla-bawla".

The sole query is: Why has this movie received such little hype? Manoj Pahwa anchors the household, so Prit Kamani as Yudi is a surprise. Although he is cheeky and always getting in trouble, there is something charming about him. Though it was predictable, the final scene was heartwarming. Prit is excellent in a stand-up comedy performance.

Despite all of his malicious misdeeds, Yudi (Yudhistar Sharma, as you eventually learn) is not a complete yatichu.

Recite it in reverse. You'll be able to interpret it.

Final Thoughts

Overall, Middle-Class Love is a carefree, unremarkable film that doesn't offer anything fresh. If you like college romances or dramas, this might be the book for you, but it's not as interesting as one might expect. I gave it two stars because of how simple it was and how beautifully it showcased Mussoorie's natural beauty. The film is unquestionably a treat for my strained eyes because it skillfully captures the mountainous landscape and endearing characteristics of hill stations.

Final rating: 2/5
