Motherhood
What are some of the things that come to mind when you think of an infant? Is it their pink and tiny faces, breath, smooth bottoms, minuscule toes, toothless smiles, and their cutest infant coos? What about: how it felt seeing your baby for the first time? Did you think about the way that they first cried? What about the feeling that you felt in your heart when your baby smiled at you for the first time? Or when they looked directly into your eyes? The late night cuddles? The closeness of when they nursed? The skin-to-skin contact? Their smell? Those are some of the topics that are always mentioned when discussing motherhood; am I also right?

Switching to Cloth Diapers
Before I was pregnant with my first born and currently only child, Delilah, I started researching the best alternatives for everything that her skin would come in contact with. I didn’t purchase Johnson & Johnson products, Orajel, chest rubs, or anything that had even a slight negative review for fear that it would harm my child. But what I forgot to research was disposable diapers and alternatives for them. Was that possible? Did they make organic diapers? The Honest Company’s disposable diapers were the only chemical-free ones that I found but the prices were outrageous for our budget. Besides, some still claimed that they weren’t as chemical free as the company had claimed. I was at my wit's end until I found cloth diapers.

Monster in Law Pt.1
So the other day I saw an article on Facebook with the headline "Why it's OKAY to cut toxic family members from your life." Without even reading the article, my mother in law came right to mind. Now I know that may sound harsh, but hear me out. Let me start by saying, I never would have thought at the time that I would end up resenting my mother in law so deeply that I had no interest in her being a part of my life at all. I had hopes and dreams like most women do... For example, the perfect wedding experience... The dress shopping, the bridal and bachelorette parties, the morning of while getting ready, the ceremony, the toasts, and all the family events to follow. I pictured the perfect relationship with her. But, like they say, you can't see the future.

Taking the Blame
If you read part 1, " He's the one!",you may be wondering, what happened within the family to put them against me in such a sudden and odd way. Why would they do such a thing? What did I do to bring this upon myself? Valid questions. My part was being immature and quick to temper. This is how it started and it unfolded like this.

"Always and Forever"
Love blinded me. As it comforted, inspired, and gave me hope in my darkest hours, it blinded me. My father always reminds me that life works two ways: “You’re born on this Earth, and surely you will either die or be killed.” Direct, but honest. He always reminds me that nobody escapes death. Yet in my mind, I never accepted that my grandma would die. Her name is Ellen Amelia Walton-Williams, and she will always be my greatest love.
