Today, Deepti was in a restless mood at the shop throughout the day. There was turmoil in the mind. While leaving the house in the morning, mother i.e. Deepti's mother-in-law had said in a low voice that she understood very well the meaning of her daughter coming home early in the evening and her coming home early. That's why she remained restless the whole day. Bela next to her also interrupted her two-three times, “What's the matter Deepti? Why are you looking so sad today?”

Deepti smiled. At five o'clock she went home, asking Bela and the lady opposite Pragya to take care of the shop. As soon as Ankur left, he hugged her feet. Mother gave him tea and asked him to get ready. After drinking tea, Deepti washed her hands and face, changed her clothes and got ready. Mother-in-law forcefully put a chain around her neck and put a bindi on her forehead. At the appointed time, Vinay and his parents came to see Deepti. They had already liked Deepti after seeing her photo. Today, in a way, we had come to confirm the matter and find the time for marriage. Vinay's mother gave an omen and in a way made Deepti her daughter-in-law.

Deepti's eyes filled with tears. Similarly, one day mother-in-law gave an omen and accepted it for Deepak. There was so much excitement in my mind then, the joy of entering a new life, the joy of bonding with a new family. And today the same thing is being repeated, but there is no happiness and enthusiasm in the mind, on the contrary the mind is sad and extinguished.

At night, Ankur put his arms around Deepti and asked affectionately, “Mummy, who were those uncles and grandparents?”

“They were your grandfather's friends and his family, son.” Deepti said, caressing his head lovingly. Ankur soon fell asleep clinging to her, but Deepti could not sleep till late at night.

Deepti was married to Deepak only six years ago. Having a loving husband and in-laws who showered affection all day long, Deepti felt as if she had found happiness in both worlds. Deepti's parents died in her childhood. She grew up with her maternal uncle and aunt. They kept her very well, yet Deepti's heart kept yearning to call someone mother and father. After marriage, Deepak's parents gave him lots of love. Deepak was his only son. He also got a daughter in the form of Deepti.

Ankur was born within a year. The sprout of love between Deepti and Deepak. Deepak wanted a daughter, yet he was happy on the birth of a son. He very affectionately named him Ankur. Deepti was very satisfied and happy in her new family.

In everyone's love and upbringing of Ankur, she had forgotten the deprivations of her childhood and the untimely death of her parents. Now Deepti had no complaints with life. She was happy, prosperous and satisfied in every way.

But Deepti, being cruel, did not like this pleasure. Deepak's condition worsened due to a medicine reaction due to minor fever and he died in just three days. Deepti's mind went blank. The smiling Deepak of four days ago is gone so suddenly that today there is no trace of him left anywhere in the world. Deepti's world was destroyed. He could not even hear the cry of little Ankur. He was only two and a half years old and the shadow of his father had vanished from his mind.

Deepak's parents tolerated this accident with a heavy heart and started forgetting their sorrow while taking care of Ankur and Deepti. After months, Deepti became a little sober and started spending her time taking care of Ankur. There was a small market near his house, where there was a women's market on the upper floor. Many housewives ran their businesses there. Some parlor-boutique, some sewing-painting classes. After retiring from household work, women would come to their respective shops. All the friends would sit, share their sorrows and joys and some creative work would also be done. Deepti's father-in-law also got her a shop there. As a rule, Deepti would send Ankur to school and come to the shop. The whole day would be spent in talking to the customers and the women around. He had become very close to Bela and Pragya. Now she started becoming normal again. But mother and father started worrying about his future. They started looking for a boy for her remarriage. Her concern was also natural, because she was only twenty-six years old. How could she spend her life like a mountain alone?

Deepti was not at all ready to marry again, but she had to bow down to the arguments and requests of her mother-in-law and father-in-law. After searching a couple of places, they liked Vinay and his family very much.

All things were decided. The marriage date has been confirmed. Then one day the mother told that Vinay was not ready to adopt Ankur. It was as if a thunderbolt had struck Deepti. Fate has already snatched away the father's love from that innocent child, now the mother will also be snatched away.

“Mother, I will not do this marriage. I cannot stay apart from Ankur. Tell Vinay that if you want to marry me, you will have to adopt my Ankur also, otherwise I am not interested in this relationship.” Deepti said it in clear words.

“Don't say that, daughter. We are with Ankur. The news of your marriage has spread everywhere and I am sure that if you will win Vinay's heart with your good behavior, then one day he will definitely adopt Ankur. Then Ankur will get both his parents.” Mother explained to Deepti.

Helpless, Deepti gave in to her mother's arguments and hugged her and cried. Thinking about Ankur, his heart started to swell.

Just fifteen days later, Deepti and Vinay got married in a simple ceremony. Stayed with both Vinay's parents for a few days, then went back to Delhi. Deepti started trying to adapt herself to the new house, new environment and new relationship. Vinay was a very intelligent, loving and caring life partner. Deepti was very happy, the only thing that kept troubling her was that she wished Vinay could understand her yearning for love and adopt Ankur as well.

However, Deepti was reassured by the fact that Vinay lived in the same city. As soon as he went to office, she would finish her household chores and go to her shop. Father would also drop Ankur to Deepti from school. Deepti would spend time with Ankur throughout the afternoon. She would pamper him. But when she would come back home in the evening, Ankur would cry and hold her pallu, then Deepti would be heartbroken. With great difficulty she would bid him farewell with tears in her eyes, promising to meet him again.

Ankur's crying face kept appearing in front of her throughout the night and she could not sleep. A few months passed like this. One day Deepti came to know that she was going to become a mother. Vinay's happiness knew no bounds. He took care of Deepti in every way. As a few more months passed, Deepti stopped going to the shop and so did the means of meeting Ankur. Sometimes parents would bring Ankur to Deepti's house, but this was not possible every day. His heart remained troubled.

At the appointed time, Deepti gave birth to a son. At this time Vinay's parents came to him. When the baby turned three months old, they went back. Now Deepti would be busy taking care of the little one throughout the day. While taking care of the little one, she would remember Ankur's upbringing every moment and would feel in pain. In the afternoon, she would often hold the little one close to her chest and cry remembering Ankur. Ankur's childhood memories would become alive in his mind. She longed to hear his innocent words. Despite meeting her life partner and becoming a mother again, she was incomplete.

Vinay would come back from office and play with the little one for hours. He would get up and take care of her even at night. Would take him out for a ride. The little one was now five months old. The house would echo with his laughter.

When Deepti brought the little one home after getting the vaccine, he developed fever. He would remain crying and irritable the whole day. Deepti was very tired taking care of him.

“Vinay, if you allow, I will come to mother's place for a few days. The little one will also be properly taken care of there.” He asked politely.

“Yes, come Deepti. You will also get some rest. You are very tired. Don't worry about me. The office canteen is very good, I will eat there.” Vinay happily gave permission.

Deepti happily came to her mother's house with the little one. Parents would take care of the little one the whole day. Deepti spent all her time taking care of Ankur. She would bathe him, wash him, feed him everything. Months later, Ankur slept the whole night clinging to her. She would tell him new stories. Deepti was very happy and her mother was also completely satisfied.

When Vinay would come home in the evening after Deepti left, the house would start running to bite him. He was missing Deepti and Nanhe a lot. Till late night he would entertain himself by watching TV. When he would sleep at night, he would feel as if the little one was crying or whimpering and he would wake up with a startle. He was finding no peace neither at home nor in the office. He didn't feel like working in the office and the silence at home was bothering him.

Suddenly Vinay realized that even though he is a father, being away from his five-month-old son for five days is not going well for him. But Deepti is a mother. How could she have been able to remain separated for so many months from the son whom she nurtured close to her heart for five years? How cruel and small-hearted he really is, who separated an innocent child from his mother. What if Deepti goes away forever with the little one? How will he be able to live without his beloved son and then how will Deepti be living without Ankur till now. How much pain he must have endured. Vinay's eyes filled with tears. If he can accept the light as his own, then why can't he accept the part generated from it as his own? How did he become so small-minded and selfish? He started repenting.

The very next day Vinay reached Deepti's house. Deepti, holding the little one in her lap, was feeding Ankur with all his might. A different glow of affection was shimmering on her face. Vinay had never seen her so happy. He remained fascinated and kept looking at Deepti. Till today he had snatched away this glorious inner happiness from a mother. He was filled with guilt.

As soon as she looked at Vinay, Deepti's face paled and Ankur too got scared and grabbed her anklets. Vinay smiled and touched Ankur's head, then he stood close to Deepti.

“The house feels very empty without you. Now the health of the little one is also fine. Come on, let's go home.” Vinay said to Deepti.

“Are you taking mother?” Ankur's eyes filled with tears.

“Son, I have come to take not only mother but you also home. From now on you will also stay with mother.” Vinay said lovingly.

“Really uncle?” Ankur became happy.

“No uncle, tell father, son. I am your father.” Vinay took her in his lap and said this lovingly. Deepti was looking at Vinay with surprise.

“Forgive me Deepti. I was very selfish. Till today I have kept mother and child separated from each other. I am your culprit. After being separated from the little one, I felt the pain of being away from my child. I want to take both my sons home. I could not live for four nights without the little one, how could you live without Ankur for a year. That's it, I won't give you any more trouble." There was an apology in Vinay's voice.

Deepti started crying after getting this unexpected happiness.

“I told you, daughter, one day everything will be fine.” Mom and Dad said coming into the room.

Ankur hugged Vinay. Deepti, holding the little one close to her chest, became emotional after seeing this scene. Today he felt that his family was complete.
