Our ocean is in crisis!. Top Story - April 2021.
The weather is getting warmer and the beach is calling. You pack your towels, snacks, and sunscreen. Chatter about boogie boarding and sandcastle building fills the air. But you arrive at the beach only to find your favorite spot speckled with plastic containers, newspapers, and food wrappers. What's going on? Our ocean provides us with oxygen to breathe, drives our climate and weather, brings rain to the farmlands, and food to our table. Our seas offer us recreation, transportation, protein, medicine, energy, and unrelenting beauty. But experts agree, our ocean is in crisis. Luckily, it isn’t too late to make a difference.

The Lazy Girl’s Guide to a Less Wasteful Existence. Top Story - April 2021.
I’m lazy. Don’t get me up early. Don’t give me too many things to do per day. Let me meander through life at my own pace. I’m also a chronic worrier. I freak out about what’s in my food, what’s in my hair products and what’s going to happen to the world if we don’t stop using so much stuff!

Begin with the face in the mirror and keep our oceans clean
The cover photo is of a breathtaking, beautiful blue ocean. Not long ago a different image on a body of water was given to the world. The organization Parley For The Oceans released a video that shocked everyone who viewed it because it gave us a glimpse of how humans are destroying our natural wonders. . The video depicted a ginormous wave of plastic pollution and garbage that had washed up in the Dominican Republic on the shores of Santo Domingo after a storm. You literally could not see any water, but only trash flowing just like a normal wave and it was pretty disgusting.

Watching Florida Change and Drain. Top Story - April 2021.
At the beginning of the 20th century, Florida was one of the least population-dense states in the union. Except for the coast, the state was almost uninhabited. Some places, like St. Augustine, attracted snowbirds from the north and Europe, and sport fishing was beginning to attract anglers from the other states and abroad.

An easy guide to going Eco-Friendly: starting with the bathroom
note: this post contains no affiliate links, just me gushing over how much I love these products I don't wear a lot of makeup anymore. In high school I would spend about an hour in the morning doing my makeup but still never managed to make it look as flawless as all of the popular girls. Once college rolled around, I would do it a least twice a week as I only had classes twice a week but slowly fell out of habit as I had more important things to focus on. Papers, midterms, finals, getting a somewhat decent job, or really any job to help me pay for these classes that grants and finical aid did not cover. Then I only began wearing it on certain occasions, whenever I would go out to diner with friends or celebrate a birthday or holidays, etc. Then 2020 happened. Everyone was forced to stay inside (don't get me wrong, I am not complaining) due to COVID-19 and masks where implemented throughout the country. No one could really see my face anymore so I had not reason to make myself "look good" anymore (because you should never feel like you need makeup to feel pretty!). Recently I was going through my makeup bag and throwing away a ton of old makeup that I no longer wore and was probably way past its use dates. This was also around the time when I decided that I wanted to live a little more eco-friendly and sustainably. So after getting lost on YouTube and somehow on the sustainability side of TikTok I decided that it was time that I live a little more earth friendly.
