This is the Heartbreaking Story of Chibuzo John, a Nigerian trader who was wrongfully locked up in Ghana.

Imagine being locked up for a crime you didn't commit. It is one of the worst nightmares for any human being, and tragically, it is the reality for a young man named Chibuzo John. Chibuzo, a popular Nigerian trader residing in Ghana, was arrested and thrown into jail for a crime he had no involvement. Since 2018, he has been languishing in prison, enduring a six-year ordeal that continues to this day.

Chibuzo John, also known as Prince John, was a well-known trader in Koforidua, a city in eastern Ghana. He had been living in Ghana for an extended period, establishing a life there that included a wife, two children, and a thriving business selling women's shoes and bags. He even built two houses in Ghana, seemingly living the perfect life.

However, everything abruptly changed one fateful day. According to a journalist who investigated Nigerian prisoners held in Ghana, Chibuzo broke down in tears when recounting his story. As per Chibuzo's account, he had a business associate in Ghana who was also Nigerian, but their personal lives were separate from their business partnership. In 2018, Chibuzo's business associate got involved in a dispute with his girlfriend, and tragically, he killed her and fled the scene.

Unbeknownst to Chibuzo, the police embarked on a three-month search for his business associate. When they couldn't locate him, they turned their attention to Chibuzo, believing he had information about the associate's whereabouts. Despite Chibuzo's repeated explanations that he knew nothing about his associate's personal life or the crime committed, the Ghanaian police remained unconvinced.

The authorities arrested Chibuzo, took him to prison, and informed him that his release would only be possible if he provided information about his business associate. It's important to note that Chibuzo had only recently met the associate in Ghana and had no previous connection with him. However, the Ghanaian authorities presumed that since they were both Nigerians, they must have known each other.

Chibuzo's nightmare didn't end with his arrest. He was held in prison for months without any visitation rights, preventing his family and loved ones from seeing him. When they eventually gained access to him, the Ghanaian police relocated him to a different prison, far away from his community. This tactic was likely employed to hinder his loved ones' ability to reach out and provide support. The motive behind these actions raises questions, with speculation that the late girl's family, unable to capture the Nigerian who killed their daughter, sought to hold someone accountable.

Adding to the tragedy, Chibuzo's Ghanaian wife abandoned him in prison and remarried another man, even taking possession of the two houses they had built together. She showed no support for her husband, refusing to visit him and moving on with her life while he remained unjustly imprisoned for a crime everyone knew he had not committed.

This distressing case serves as a call to action for everyone who becomes aware of Chibuzo John's story. It is crucial to share this video, raising awareness and seeking justice for him. The hope is that both Nigerian and Ghanaian authorities will take notice and investigate Chibuzo's situation, ensuring that he receives the fair treatment and resolution he deserves.

The silencing and isolation Chibuzo has endured must be brought to light, shedding a spotlight on the many untold stories of injustice that occur all too often. By sharing, commenting, and amplifying his story, we

can work together to demand the right authorities take action and rectify this tragic miscarriage of justice.
