In Artesia, New Mexico. Imagine you are the mother of a 19 year old girl. You remember being pregnant with her. The happiness you felt being pregnant, but being beaten by her father.

Your daughter is now 19 and she is having severe back pain. You know that she was born with back problems as a result of the abuse. She takes a pregnancy test in the Emergency Room, it comes back positive.

She tells the doctors she has the use the restroom, so she quickly runs to the bathroom. Video surveillance shows as she runs to the restroom holding her backside with one hand. A minute later, concerned, you go to check on her. After a while, she allows entrance to the restroom. Blood is all over the floor.

She comes back and lays in bed as a cleaner goes to clean up the blood in the restroom. A while later, doctors and police enter to notify you and your adult daughter that a dead full term baby was found in the bathroom garbage.

Rosa Rodriguez is the mother of Alexee Trevizo, the 19 year old woman who threw her baby in the hospital garbage. The baby died.

“Lexee, have you watched the news of the girls — what they do to their babies, and they go to jail?” her mother said.

According to The Law & Crime Network,

"As seen on video footage, authorities eventually flew the defendant out after the doctor said the 19-year-old was still bleeding significantly and had not delivered the placenta.

“Artesia Police Department detectives presented case information to the 5th Judicial District Attorney’s Office on March 28, 2023. A criminal complaint was approved on May 10, 2023, and formal charges were filed on the suspect and mother of the victim,” cops said.

Authorities did not release the baby’s name, only calling him the placeholder John Doe."

According to CelebsWeek-

"Alexee Trevizo, who had previously faced charges of Abuse of a Child, Tampering with evidence, and First-degree murder of her newborn child, has been released on a $100,000 unsecured bond. The decision came after a Tuesday hearing before Eddy County District Judge David Finger.

Under the terms of her release, Trevizo will be subject to certain restrictions. She must follow a curfew from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., allowing her to attend school and graduation. Notably, she will not be required to wear an ankle monitor or be placed under house arrest during this period."

Strange thing about this case, Alexee and her mother state they didn't know she was pregnant. Alexee herself states she didn't know she was pregnant. Stating she hasn't had sex.

According to numerous social media photos posted by true crime sleuths show a baby bump that would be hard to hide. The type of baby bump that would be hard to disprove.

Another question by viewers is how did this 19 year old girl cut the umbilical cord in the bathroom? If she didn't have anything sharp, how did she cut it? How did mom not know her own daughter was pregnant for 9 months?

With Alexee already in the hospital, why did she not give birth with the doctors? Why did she run to the bathroom and throw the child in the trash can, trying to hide it?

According to Law and Crime,

"When Trevizo was admitted to Artesia General Hospital on January 27, Mitchell said she did not expect to give birth.

“She is shocked whenever she delivers a baby,” Mitchell told Law&Crime Network. “I already have a real good idea of what caused the baby’s death. It had nothing to do with my client. She was not at fault.”

Before she was admitted to the hospital, Trevizo spent four hours working out with her cheerleading team and was dehydrated. Mitchell said she did not realize she was pregnant.

“There’s no question that she thought she had been protected. There’s no question that she had used birth control,” Mitchell said. “Obviously it didn’t work.”

‘Nurses and doctors failed her’

According to Mitchell, Trevizo was loaded with medication, including zofran, sodium chloride and morphine after arriving at the hospital.

“They gave her major medication. Some of that medication is certainly dangerous to an unborn child or fetus,” Mitchell said. “That medication was started without finding out whether or not she was pregnant.”

Trevizo was not told she was pregnant before going to the bathroom, according to Mitchell. He said she gave birth alone and without assistance.

“This is a situation in which the hospital failed her. The nurses and doctors failed her. The medical investigators failed her,” he said.

As Law&Crime Network previously reported, an autopsy conducted by the Office of the Medical Investigator showed the baby’s death was not consistent with a stillbirth, finding he had air in his lungs.

“I’m obviously going to have another expert look at that. I don’t know if that’s true or not, because I don’t have much confidence in OMI,” Mitchell said.

Mitchell told Law&Crime Network the hospital illegally released parts of Trevizo’s medical records, which could be considered malpractice.

“I’m absolutely convinced that not only will we be able to show that she’s totally innocent, but we’ll be able to show what some people might call malpractice that took place,” he said.

Law & Crime Network reached out to Artesia General Hospital for a comment about the allegations, but have not received a reply.
