Embarrassment
Getting Kicked Out of Reading Composition Class in Junior High. Top Story - May 2026.
I made it worse when “ms.frazier”, you can go outside the classroom door, go outside stay outside by the door and come back in when your ready, was said. My initial thoygt and run with the flow was why’d You ask why? I had made the rest of my life worse by not understanding why I was kicked out of the classroom. After I’d survived the great outdoors I wantrd and thought to pray about the grudge as I came back inside the classroom. I tried to hide it all. I felt very miserable about what was on the inside that had yet to ever be taken care of. I think the majority of this story will conclude to undone racial issue that relies still here. I never understood, like I do now. I made matters worse by extending the anger inside to keep distant promise to secretly runaway forever if ever told on.

The Rejection Resume: Why Your Failures Are More Valuable Than Your Wins. AI-Generated.
I turned down a $47,000 job offer in March 2024 because I realized something watching my rejections pile up for three years: my failures were teaching me more than my acceptances ever could.

What’s This?
My brother had a 1987 Ford Escort that ran technically, but the carburetor was flooded. He knew this because when you'd turn the key, you'd get this drowning sound. Like the engine was trying to cough up something it shouldn't have swallowed. He'd described it to me three times. I finally said, "Just let me look at it."

Made It Worse Challenge: The Prompt - Write a true or fictional confession about a situation where you tried to fix something and only made it worse. Trying to fix something can feel like progress, even when it isn’t. Good intentions have a way of complicating things. Start with the moment something goes wrong, then follow the attempt to set it right. Each step should move the situation further off course, whether through misjudgment, overcorrection, or simple misunderstanding. The voice can be reflective, defensive, or matter-of-fact, but it should stay close to the logic that led things there. Let the piece hold on the outcome. What matters is not just that it got worse, but how and why it did.

Cleaning Up for Vanessa. Runner-Up in I Made It Worse Challenge. Top Story - May 2026.
I logged in to Vanessa’s computer and was immediately disgusted. So much crap on her desktop! This has to be cleaned up. First, let's drag all the files to the trash. Next thing is to fix the desktop appearance from the standard view to her favorite color, yellow, and put a graphic of all the planets down the side. The screen isn’t bright enough, so I'll adjust that in the settings.

DARLEEN'S PHONE. Runner-Up in I Made It Worse Challenge.
The music was still playing inside, though it no longer sounded like a wedding. Voices drifted out into the garden in brief bursts: someone shouting a name, a glass breaking, waiters trying uselessly to calm people who no longer wanted to be calmed.

I Thought It Needed Water
The plant looked dry. That’s important context, because I’d like it noted from the start that my intentions were good. Negligent people don’t notice dryness. Negligent people walk past suffering every day. I noticed. I acted. If anything, this situation began with empathy.

Dear Diary
Dear Diary: Today was just awful. It started great, and went downhill fast! First, the buttons tore loose on my favorite pair of chinos. I bent down to grab my bookbag after geometry class, and they just flew off. I barely caught my pants in time before they fell off me. I was lucky Mr. Lukenberger had some safety pins in his desk for me to use.

Dade: Chapter 1
I was popular in high school for, like, one second. I spent most of my life as an outcast but for one brief and long-awaited tour of being well-liked. And it was all thanks to my friend, Dade. He was handsome and funny and kind, and he liked all the coolest bands and movies. Everyone loved him, and being friends with him made me cool by extension.
