How dare you to be different?

We live in a world of conformity, where there are different rules and regulations which govern how people are going to act and be. This conformity is basically in every single aspect of our lives, from your home, to your school, right through your job and even in your circle of friends. In all these places you are going to notice that there are rules which you need to abide by, for example at home even though you have a lot of freedom, there are still things you just can’t do. In the world as well, there is conformity enforced by the government and even society in general.

Society often expects us to fit in to these neatly predefined boxes, to follow the predefined paths and act a certain way. What happens when we challenge these norms and embrace our uniqueness?

You will be branded an abnormality, being different will make you stand out. You will instantly become a threat to everyone around you because they can’t understand you, they can’t comprehend who you are, and you go against all what they know. The unknown is uncomfortable.

Uniqueness in Difference

In a world of conformity where we all act the same and strive to abide by the same rules, it is only possible because we repress who we are and fake something we are not. Being different allows us to discover our authentic selves, breaking free from the constraints to explore our passions, interests and talents. In doing so, we cultivate a deeper sense of self-awareness, but also open ourselves to a world of new opportunities and experiences.

Innovation in Difference

Embracing diversity fosters innovation and creativity. Different perspectives create new realities and experiences which are unique. With a predictable system the results can only be predictable but through uniqueness, creative solutions emerge which push the boundaries of what is possible. Diversity of thoughts and experiences are essential for driving progress and tackling complex challenges. When we all do the same things in the same way, there is very little which can ever change in the results we obtain, It is by being different that we get to create new experiences and drive the difference.

Hostility of Society

Being different is always going to attract hostility from society, it's like an imbalance which needs to be resolved, a foreign pathogen which needs to be killed or a virus which is sure to spread if not contained in due time. That's why being different feels so awkward, it feels unnatural and makes you stand out in society. It isn’t inherently a bad thing, but rather an unknown people feel uncomfortable living with. We have all grown in this world of conformity, and It's expected of us to walk and act in a certain way, doing anything else makes us an enemy to the system and a problem to resolve.

Why should you be different?

History is filled with examples of individuals who dared to be different and, in doing so, reshaped the world. Persons who didn’t just conform to the norm of what is possible but dared to go against everything they knew to walk on unchartered territories. They challenged the status quo and left an indelible mark on society as we know it. Their stories serve as a reminder that true progress is born out of the courage to defy expectations and walk on our own path.

So, how dare you to be different?

The answer lies within each of us. It lies in our willingness to embrace our uniqueness, to stand tall in the face of adversity, and to forge our own road with an unwavering conviction. It is a daring act that has the power to transform not only our own lives but also the world around us. So, let us dare to be different, for it is in our differences that our greatest strength lies.
