Aye Coo
For The Vocal "I Made It Worse" Challenge

It was meant to be an experiment and a bit of fun, that's all, but how many times do we do things that get completely out of hand? Well, I do, far too often.
I knew Esperanto was designed to make communication easier between people, and I said to our group why don't we just communicate in haiku from now on, well, not really haiku, but more like SenryΕ« (ε·ζ³). Actually, what I said was:
Just An Idea
Let's All Only Talk Haiku
Now, Going Forward
Everyone looked perplexed at first, then someone said:
You Must Be Joking
What A Stupid Idea
You Are Fucking Mad
That was where it started. It was only meant to be a bit of fun, but it slowly started to take hold, and no one wanted to be the first not to speak in haiku.
Another said:
Why Did You Do This?
You've Made Communication
Living Hell For Us
I replied
I Thought It Would Be
Interesting And Good Fun
For All Of The Gang
I was in this now, and they were not going to let me out of it.
You Deserve To Be
Despised For Being Stupid
We Won't Let It Go
I thought about what I was going to say, and whether they would still be speaking in haiku when I wasn't there?
So, Are You Only
Speaking To Me In Haiku?
Or Everyone Else?
I got an immediate reply.
Haiku Is The New
Language. You Know You Said So
Didn't You, Moron!
So I came back:
But Seriously
We Can't Keep Speaking Like This
Forever, Can We?
Then they came back:
You Started This Off
And Now You Are Complaining
We're All In The Groove
Every statement was a haiku, and every statement seemed to make everyone just a little more annoyed, but no one was willing to be the first to stop.
Come On Now, Enough
Now Let's go Back To Normal
And Stop This Haiku
π₯
No Way, You're Speaking
Haiku Still. We Will Not Crack
You Stop Your Haiku
I was never going to be the first to give it up. Yes, I had started it, but I would not stop until one of them dropped out first, but we were all as bad as each other and would not give it up.
Even the silence was annoying because we all knew that the next words uttered would be in the form of a haiku. Someone needed to say, "OK, I'm Out" but it was not going to be me, no way.
Seriously, I did not think this would get past a first sentence, but it had gone on for hours and showed no signs of abating.
What an absolute mess and it was all my fault. It's nobody's fault but mine.
I Won't Be The First
To Cease Speaking This Haiku
'T'will Have To Be You
It had started off as a joke, as a bit of fun, but even after an hour, it was intolerable, and for some reason, no one could stop. I made a suggestion:
Should We Stop Haiku
And Maybe Speak In Sonnets
It Would Be A Change
They seemed determined to keep speaking haiku, though:
Even More Stupid
Than Haiku, You Idiot
We Will Never Change
Well, whether they would or not, I would have to wait and see. I would not be the first one to crack, but the situation had gone from fun and rapidly descended into a communicative mess.
I had completely messed this up with my suggestion, and with every interjection made things worse.
I am the mess.
