The 'List: Fleetwood Mac
Hello, one and all. Here's the second artist profile for the new year. A mixed rock/pop act from both the US and the UK that formed in London. They went through many lineup changes and were considered more of a blues/rock band before changing their sound often and still have success elude them, until after another band member dropped out and there were five official members and their self-titled LP was released in 1975 and as they say...the rest is rock 'n' roll history.

Hello, and welcome back to Silver Linings where I honor the maligned, forgotten, and ignored. There are many elements to movies that largely tend to be ignored by the average viewer and only noticed by film students, professional critics, or total geeks. How many people do you know that would pay attention to the editing, for example? One of those elements that fade into the background for the average movie-watcher is the film's score. I consider that tragic since, when done right, the background music can be just as important as the actors onscreen. The right melodies can establish the setting, create the mood, and even tug at the audience's heartstrings. A great composer can make a great film a masterpiece and can even buoy a lame film. After all, John Williams' "Dual of the Fates" was one of the saving graces of The Phantom Menace.

I speak music fluently... It's one of my favorite things to talk about (and sometimes argue about) because I'm so passionate about it. Too bad I have ZERO musical talent outside of putting people onto new shit daily lol! God knew not to give me any pipes because I would've been #undealwithable!
10 Hilarious Song Titles
Let's face it, musicians are weird (I'm allowed to say that because I'm a musician as well). But do you know what's even more bizarre, and hysterical? Some of their song titles! Here are 10 laughable song titles!

Hello, one and all. So, here it is. The first official heavy metal 'list compiled by me and by good friend Calvin (Quaker Oates) Cherry. This one was a bit long to compile on account that we both love the genre and wanted to come up with the absolute perfect 'list. Yes, we here at... I'm not sure what we call ourselves; except Hall & Oates 0.2? We want to give you the best balls-out metal experience! Anyways, on to the 'list, but first, a history lesson.

Hello, one and all. My 2018 New Year's resolution is to make these 'lists more fun and challenging, and as promised; new genres explored, more decades explored as well as years in the rock era from every decade: 50s all the way to 10s. But, every now and again, with my good buddy Calvin (I'm Hall, he's Oates) Cherry, we will indeed profile many of our favorite singers, songwriters, artists and groups. So, with great fanfare and a tickle of the ivories, our first new year artist profile 'list highlights the career of one William Martin Joel, a.k.a. Billy Joel, a.k.a. The Piano Man.

Ok, so last January I did a New Year's Eve mix while I was in Bali on tour with my other half. Beat had just launched and I swore I would do a mix every month. It was one of my precious New Year's resolutions, it lasted two and a half months.... I add the half because I DID do a March mix but it was for a completely different reason, so it didn't count. BAD Bentley.

So, it's 2018. New year, new you etc. Everyone is looking to the future and what's coming. But what about the kids that don't feel like they belong in this technology-heavy time? I've grown up constantly being told that I have an "old soul" and that I have a timeless 'aura.' It used to frustrate me a bit, not being able to pinpoint the decade that influenced me. Most people have a very specific feel to them. They look 80s, 60s, or (god forbid) early 2000s. But some of us aren't as sure where we belong. If you've ever felt a bit lost in time, this playlist is for you.
The Best of... Britney Spears
Britney Spears is undeniably one of the biggest pop musicians to have ever existed. Through millions of albums and countless hits, Britney has shaped the face of pop music time and time again, from changing the focus and direction of teen pop to popularizing the dance music of the 2010s. Without her influence, pop music would be drastically different today. In celebration of Britney’s 20 years in the music industry, let’s go through what I believe are her best songs she’s done over the course of her career.
5 of Michael Jackson's Best Music Videos
I've always been a fan of MJ. Ever since I was a little kid, my dad used to play the songs on the radio, his old CD/casette player, or some other place. But what truly brings a person to love Michael Jackson is not just the quality of his songs but the quality of his music videos. Steve Huey of AllMusic said he was the one that brought music video into an art form and I'm inclined to agree. Here are five of a roundup of what I consider his best works. Enjoy:

Hello one and all and welcome to a New 'List for 2018! So, here's the official 'list for the new year and after several solo efforts, I'm pleased to report that my collaborator and best friend Calvin "Oates" Cherry gave me his two cents on this 'list.
Carlos GonzalezPublished 6 years ago in BeatThe 'List: 1978 (40 Years Ago)
Hello, one and all, and Happy New Year. So...we're now in 2018! We survived the first year of the Trump Administration, which, I will keep mum as to where we are headed with said presidency. In the meantime, I'd like to take a look back at the music that was popular over 40 years ago. Yes, as luck would have it, disco still reigned supreme on radio and on the charts, but the burgeoning of punk rock, as well as the rise of hard rock and metal and the massive popularity of country music crossing over, began to counter the era of bass and backbeat.
