Student Musicians Showcase Diverse Music & Styles
Columbus City Schools should be proud of the students who participated in the Marching Band Invitational, Saturday, Oct. 5, at Africentric Early College. It was an encouraging showcase of young performers and music directors of various backgrounds and situations. Each band could be seen making the most out of what they had to work with, which is an essential quality to possess in life.

Jaliyah Elliott and Suerethia Henderson placed first and second in both the 100- and 200-meter dashes. Jaliyah Elliott continued her dominance, but upsets and new champions were crowned during the exciting final day of the Horizon League Championships, May 5, in Youngstown, Ohio.

Horizon League's Championship Questions
After our trip to the MEAC Championships, this Friday and Saturday, we will spend Sunday at the Horizon League Championships. While the Horizon League may not have a ton of national qualifiers, it serves as a tough mid-major meet, featuring the grit of runners based in the Midwest, representing schools in the states of Ohio, Michigan, Indiana, and Wisconsin. The meet will be hosted in Youngstown, Ohio, May 3-5.
