Lifetime Review: 'Abduction Runs in The Family'
Alyssa Manning (Jessica Morris) certainly didn't have an ordinary childhood. Abducted from her parents and "raised" by her kidnapper for seven years before she was rescued, Alyssa has since channeled her trauma into a successful career as a podcaster. But just as her memoir about the experience is about to be published, Alyssa's past trauma comes back to haunt her. Her kidnapper Miles Simon (James Hyde) is being released from prison, and the idea of the man who abducted her being a free man has Alyssa feeling paranoid and overprotective of her daughter Emma (Charlotte Hare). Knowing she needs to let go of the past to move forward, Alyssa tries to put her mind at ease.

In the months since Lila Jackson (Nicole Ari Parker) lost her husband to a tragic car accident, her world has revolved around her 14-year-old Autistic son Ian (Nik Sanchez). While their house may look modest from the outside, the inside comes with plenty of high-tech equipment--including a reinforced safe room. This proves to be of great use to the mother-son duo when Ian ends up witnessing a violent crime.

Short Film Reviews: "J" Directors
Cerise (John T. Trigonis): Considering everything that came before the beginning of 2022, it makes sense that this list starts with a clinker of a movie. A dedicated writing tutor and former spelling bee champ, Josh Kermes (David Arkema) is floored by the arrival of a new co-worker. It's Shivam Shah (Sree Rao), the guy to whom he lost the 1990 national bee. With Shivam's arrival comes a reignition of Josh's disdain for the word that bested him, turning his life upside down. I had high hopes going into this movie. The premise sounded promising and seemed to suggest Josh would be getting the chance to re-challenge Shivam and reclaim his peace of mind. Such a story could've made charming, funny, or even heartwarming depending on what route it took its tale.

Lifetime Review: 'Secrets on Sorority Row'
On the surface, Epsilon Theta would appear to be an ordinary sorority residing in an idyllic university. Fearful that the truth of the incident would ruin their lives, Michelle and the other three girls present claimed that Kelly got drunk herself and vowed to keep what really happened a secret.

The Camping Trip
His mind keeping him from drifting away, Liam crawled out of the tent, careful not to make too much noise. He didn't want to wake Alison, who was sleeping peacefully in the sleeping bag beside his. Her back was turned to him, having opted to go to bed as soon as they came back from their afternoon hike. With the trek having ended with Alison sliding feet-first into a bush of poison oak, it wasn't surprising that she wanted to turn in early after smothering her thighs in ointment. But Liam's thoughts kept him from following her into a deep slumber, so he thought he'd get some fresh air and a look at the stars.

Hallmark Review: 'The Christmas House 2: Deck Those Halls'
After all the craziness from last year, all Mike Mitchell (Robert Buckley) wants is a nice uneventful Christmas.
