Come and Find Me Delivers Suspense but Not Enough Purpose
Saban Films, Poster : Come and Find Me begins rather cryptically in the crosswalk. Our very own Aaron Paul appears to be blatantly following Annabelle Wallis back to her apartment, and #MeToo aside, right into her living room. As it turns out, David and Claire are only playing along and the joke is on us as they reveal their idyllic relationship to each other. However, the metaphor the duo is after is clearly apparent. Paul has no idea who he has taken up with in the 2016 suspense thriller by Zack Whedon, who previously had behind the camera stints with Deadwood, Rubicon and Southland.

Vetforce Online Training Program helps Vets Bring Home a Career
Photo by Fort Rucker When military enlistment is up and the decision to leave is made, the return home can be pretty abrupt. The same goes for the negotiating the job market. Unfortunately, unfamiliarity on the corporate job search can place veterans into a lingering abyss of doubt and inactivity. Lauren Zolp’s three year search speaks directly to the uncertainty. “I wondered what was wrong with me,” said the former military linguist. But when she came across a program called VetForce in 2017, her life changed.

Extinction Rebellion Demands the Truth and Action in Worldwide Environmental Movement
In 2009, the Democrats controlled congress, the courts and the executive branch. The more environmentally inclined party still increased fossil fuel production but can at least be credited with slightly decreasing emissions. The grade doesn’t cut it for long time environmental activist Dr. Susan Rubin, and the Chappaqua, NY resident really didn’t have to see the final report card to know that the Obama administration would come up far short. “I stopped smoking hopium in 2009,” Rubin said, and can only hold her breath in hopes that the movement she’s joined helps avert the environmental catastrophe we all face.

Somers/North Salem cuts up Pawling Tigers with 7-2 Victory
On Sunday night, Somers/North Salem and Pawling faced off at the Brewster Ice Rink. Both teams showed that they had ample number of players who could cut the ice and split the defense. But individual play could not condense a sustained Sabres offense that divvied up the Tigers and scratched out an easy 7-2 victory.

Richard Linklater’s Boyhood is such a Drag
Studio : IFC Films, Poster Boyhood took 12 years to make. Praise is certainly warranted for Richard Linklater and a cast in for the long haul. Unfortunately, the film leaves the viewer feeling as though they’ve also surrendered a decade. The temperament of the title character doing most of the damage.

After 26 Years Harvey Friedman Says Goodbye to Umpiring in Somers
Harvey Friedman has umpired in the Mens Softball League since 1993. Finally hanging up his clicker, there’s been a lot of calls, and good standing usually depends on one factor. Who won and who lost. But there probably is one thing that can be agreed upon in regards to this affable man in blue. There are more stories told about Harvey than anyone involved in the league, and there’s no better framework to describe him.

Final Season of Game of Thrones Didn’t Feel Rushed to Me
Photo by Gage Skidmore The DVD at the library out, I finally got to see Game of Thrones, Season 8. Why pay when I can have it for free. Of course, I’ve heard the public reviews weren’t so good. I disagree and don’t understand what all the fuss is about.

Brooklyn Audience Provides the Entertainment At Future Host: A Speech Opera
Photo by Tomasz Baranowski Last week, a friend asked me to attend an experimental theater production called Future Host: A Speech Opera at the Knockdown Center in Brooklyn. Coming from Westchester, the number of locomotives to be boarded is tiresome to even think about and actually executing the manifest feels like punching a ticket for Mars. But the company good, I accepted the invitation and put on my theater lab coat.

Coinciding with its re-release on DVD and his upcoming film on George W. Bush, an enlightening Q&A took center stage afterwards with New York Times critic Janet Maslin. Of course, the subjects of assassination and conspiracy arose but so did a claim that might disappoint his legion of believers.

Somers Wipes Away Earlier Defeat with 42-6 Victory over Yorktown
Earlier this year Somers and Yorktown faced off as undefeated Class A powerhouses. Both teams battled up and down the field before the Huskers pulled away in the final minutes. So a packed house at Mahopac High School had to be sitting in wait of another titanic struggle. But the Tuskers clearly suffered a memory lapse and gave the Huskers a stinging 42-6 defeat that they may never forget.
