The Attitude That Stops People From Taking What They Deserve
"If you want to succeed you need to stand out from the crowd". This is the attitude that is so often replicated in our culture on what it means to be truly successful that became the motto that is shared by all the role models and stars in the world. It is so ingrained in us that many times we identify "followers" as "losers" and will label them with the most despicable words for not bringing forth their own creativity.

How To Identify And Stop Impulsive Behavior
Our brains are like power plants that constantly generate electricity as they pass chemical messages between neurons. When activity rises, the electrical impulses signal the neurotransmitters to be released who pass their information to the neighboring neurons, creating a wave effect of generated energy. According to the actual process the person is going through and the emotional state he has, there is going to be a continuous fluctuation of these transmitters as they alternate their level and change the chemistry of the brain. In particular, many scientists believe that all emotions and feelings we have can be appointed to these chemical imbalances and all of the states we go through in our life can have a very distinct fingerprint in the quantities of those in the brain.

How Colonies Affected Civilizations In The Past
The British colony was established in Hong-Kong, in 1841, right after the end of the first opium-war. That was the resistance of China to accept the opium trade of the English, East-India Company, as it was attempting to bring drugs from Bengal, the then well-established and advanced part of India that the company was operating from. Exporting commodities from Hong-Kong, like tea and silk was of great importance to Europe, yet there were few things that were allowed to be imported to Asia to counter-balance the sheet. The only commodity accepted by China was Silver, but it was rare to find and unprofitable for the whole trading endeavor. So they decided to induce opium, distributing it to the whole Country through smugglers, to cover for this deficit, creating a drug pandemic that would take the whole country by the swarm.

Why It's Important To Make Time To Be Sad
Many times feelings that manifest in one area, are just an expression of a deeper issue. Often I will come home from work, feeling pissed and angry at all the craziness of the day or carry out anger to people I care about because some unjust incident happened to me at random. It is in these cases that I will mostly desire to throw everything out of the window and quit while opening a candy-shop in some exotic place where I can spend my time instead. But how many times have I really delve into the deeper issues, to acknowledge what is really going on? Instead of speaking about them or dealing with what bothers me effectively, I will just take my sit on the couch, watch a show on TV or Netflix and end my day numbing myself out. I mean this is the normal way for an adult man to deal with it, no?

Lessons From Factfulness
Hans Rosling was one of the most recognized and renowned health activists, striving for international awareness on global issues that the world is facing. He dedicated the last part of his life, finishing his magnum opus, 'Factfulness' while being diagnosed with pancreatic cancer and spending time for its treatment. Even in this state though, he never gave up and strived for his book till the last moment. He would scribble notes and small amendments all the way till the end of his life, to finalize what he aspired to be a medium "that would help the global audience understand the world better". His book provides a breathtaking perspective on how the world works and how certain things work. Bellow is a small analysis of one of the themes of the book and how it's teaching can propagate to other lessons as well.

Divergent Thinking And Finding Your Voice
Cop Rock was one of the biggest TV-failures ever made. Marked with a bold and irreverent spirit it was one of the rare cases that combined a musical within a TV-show, all capped under the dark ambiance of a cop drama. Little words need to go to the fact that nothing similar had ever been attempted before. And being the first one to do so, exposed it to the world, in the most negative way one can fathom. It was heavily ridiculed and mocked like no other and within a few mere episodes, it got canceled sealing its fate forever. Now it is a classic showcase of how an over-ambitious project can flip over to disaster and become one of the biggest failures in TV history.
