paper, scissors, happy
I've always loved how creative stage design, even with a minimum of materials, can build a magical world. My current craft is inspired by this art form, sculpting painted paper to make small dreamscapes that transport me to my happiest of places.

Making a Beautiful Mess
I’ve been passionate about making art pretty much since the day I discovered crayons and walls. Ever since, even while raising a family and carving out a career as a creative advertising professional, I’ve managed to produce artwork in a wide range of media. Today, I find myself fortunate enough to have a modest following of online followers, dedicated patrons, and a beautiful studio in a converted wood mill.

Paul Klee and the Ant
Colonist MyrmidaAleph201 has embarked on her third excursion of the morning. She leaves the nest in the flowerbox and wanders up the warm bricks of the house. The trail is strongest here; the pheromones as bright as a boulevard set ablaze. Her fellow incoming Colonists stop to stroke her antenna briefly as she passes. She can taste their enthusiasm.

Mermaid. Top Story - February 2021.
My mother was a drunk and a mermaid. Or a mermaid and a drunk. That’s the problem with words: whatever you say first sounds like it causes the second. But sometimes people are just two things at once. And more likely three. See, my mother wasn’t a mermaid because she was a drunk. And she wasn’t a drunk because she was a mermaid. She was just both, as long as I can remember. Oh, and a dreamer. A drunk, dreaming mermaid that drank and dreamed.
