Tomorrow I Leave
Introduction This is just a bit of preamble for the week's holiday in Alnwick which is a twenty-five-minute train journey to Alnmouth then a friend's generous offer to take us to the flat overlooking Alnwick Castle where some of the scenes for Harry Potter and Downton Abbey were filmed.

A Cascade Of Flowers
Introduction I wanted to write a poem about flowers and ideally, the cinquain should be visually centred to give it a visual identity as well as a lyrical one. I thought about creating an image of a flower where each petal was a verse but that is something for the future.

Music About Musicians By Musicians
Introduction Dexy's Midnight Runners came on the radio covering Van Morrison's "Jackie Wilson Said" and I thought could I put together a playlist of songs or band singing about other singers or bands. We obviously have something to kick off this one and another has just come into my head, bands named after songs, but that can wait awhile.

The Imposter Syndrome Is Strong In This One
Introduction I write these pieces every so often when I feel that my work is rubbish and not worth sharing. One of the reasons I write them is for others who may feel the same, although when you feel like this you feel that you are the only one, despite assurances from peers and friends. So I will leap on without further ado and try to keep positive.

To Catch A Cat
Introduction This is not actually about catching cats, well only in the sense of catching them as pictures or on video. Recently I have not seen many due to the inclement weather around Fenham as well as a trip to Edinburgh, and next week I shall be traipsing up to Alnwick by train and a lift from my friend Julie.

The Dishwasher DilemmaTop Story - March 2023
Introduction Dishwashers are just a part of any normal household like microwaves, washing machines and televisions, but I am old enough to remember not having some of these and I still don’t possess a microwave. As I write this I am doing a Windows Update on my Laptop Computer prior to my holiday in Alnwick (in a flat overlooking Alnwick Castle where some of the Quidditch scenes were filmed for the Harry Potter films) where I will be visiting The Poisoned Garden and Barter Books, but this point on this is to chat to you about the situation with my Dishwasher.

Conversations With The Beast
This story is for the Vocal "Tall Tail" Challenge which you can read about below: I was led on the floor which was where I felt most comfortable, he put the television on and switched it on to Sky Sport, Arsenal were playing Manchester United, two London teams who I couldn't stand, well it wasn't the teams it was the fans, Manchester United were not even a Manchester team, they were based in Salford, but many of their fans were cockneys and that riled me.

Art - What Is The Point?
Introduction I hear so many people criticising all forms of art because it’s not exactly what the want or expect, they expect some kind of personal perfection or else it is dismissed and rubbish or worse still irrelevant or even worse it is just ignored. Art should never be ignored.
