Stroszek
When I first saw the scene where our protagonist Bruno is about to be released from prison and an inmate wishes him farewell by lighting his fart on fire I was like “What the fuck!? Was that really necessary?!” then I saw the entire film and the symbolism of that moment finally made sense. Bruno's life after leaving that facility was going to be one flaming fart, and that's not to say that the movie stinks. German director Werner Herzog’s 1977 film ‘Stroszek’ is a tragic comedy I can watch over and over. It's truly another kind of adventure many say is one of Herzog’s best and most realistic features, filled with comedy and beautiful visual compositions.
