Anna,
Anna means gracious or one who gives. Anna is one of the few named prophetesses in the Bible. She is also the only prophetess named in the New Testament. Though she is only mentioned in a few verses she is very important because she bears witness to our redeemer. She was at the temple when Mary and Joseph presented Jesus at 40 days old and when Simeon blessed him. She believed that Jesus was the Messiah when others did not.

Crochet,
I come from a family of artists, and crafters from both sides of my family. I will be forever grateful to my grandmother who taught me how to crochet. It has been healing for me. When I was growing up, my dream was to study art in Paris and have my paintings in art shows and galleries. This dream got me through some hard times and for me was as vital as the air that I breathe. I taught myself to paint and draw. When I was in high school, I would take every art course that I could and even entered some art shows where I won awards. I was a shy girl who didn’t make friends easily but art was a way for me to be me. During my junior year in high school, I entered a drawing contest and won. A man from the school came to meet me. By the time he left, I was enrolled in his art school. We didn’t have much money but my dad made sure that I was enrolled. So while going to high school during the day at night after my chores and homework were done I would work on my art school. This school was the Art Correspondence School from Minnesota where Charles Schultz also went to. After high school, I paid for art tutors and went to Art classes through a program at the high school. Then I finally started college to get my art degree. I loved my art classes but one of my professors would always harshly critique my work and I would always end up crying when leaving her room until one day when I had it and quit painting for good which was over 20 years ago. I wish I hadn’t quit my dream but I was so timid and shy that I didn’t know how to handle it. It was the end of one dream but the start of another dream.

White Vinegar
Six Homemade Cleaning Supplies Using White Vinegar Did you know that white vinegar has been around for years? Or that they have found traces of it in Egyptian urns that date from about 3,000 BC. White vinegar has many uses but in this article, the purpose is cleaning. White vinegar has the ability to dissolve mineral deposits from coffee makers to glass and to any smooth surface. The good thing about it is that it leaves little residue and has a pleasant odor. Some of the ways you can use it are to unclog drains, polish the silver, and remove wallpaper. I love using these homemade cleaners because they help the environment, are easy to make, and don’t have toxins or chemicals in them. They work great on my surfaces.

New Testament Prophetesses
Jezebel Jezebel is one of two false prophetesses mentioned by name in the Bible. Jezebel was mentioned by name by the angel of the church in Thyatira in Revelations 2:18–29 (NKJ), “And to the angel of the church in Thyatira write, ‘These things says the Son of God, who has eyes like a flame of fire, and His feet like fine brass: “I know your works, love, service, faith, and your patience; and as for your works, the last are more than the first. Nevertheless I have a few things against you, because you allow that woman Jezebel, who calls herself a prophetess, to teach and seduce My servants to commit sexual immorality and eat things sacrificed to idols. And I gave her time to repent of her sexual immorality, and she did not repent. Indeed I will cast her into a sickbed, and those who commit adultery with her into great tribulation, unless they repent of their deeds. I will kill her children with death, and all the churches shall know that I am He who searches the minds and hearts. And I will give to each one of you according to your works. “Now to you I say, and to the rest in Thyatira, as many as do not have this doctrine, who have not known the depths of Satan, as they say, I will put on you no other burden. But hold fast what you have till I come. And he who overcomes, and keeps My works until the end, to him I will give power over the nations ‘He shall rule them with a rod of iron; They shall be dashed to pieces like the potter’s vessels as I also have received from My Father; and I will give him the morning star. “He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches.”’

How to Dress for
Have you noticed how people are dressing immodestly today? The clothes are getting tighter, shorter, or even skimpier. The sad thing is that it is creeping slowly into the church. Have you been to a church where you have seen women wearing short dresses or low-cut necklines? I have and it’s a sad day that happens. If we don’t like it, do you think God loves it? When we show up at worship with immodest dress, we are disrespecting not only ourselves but God. God doesn’t like us to be immodest, and most of the time I see immodesty in women “In like manner also, women adorn themselves in modest apparel, with shamefacedness, and sobriety; not with broided hair, or gold, or pearls, or costly array” (1 Timothy 2:9).

The Old Testament Prophetesses
Isaiah's Wife Isaiah’s wife, the prophetess plays an important role in Isaiah’s life as well as in the kingdom of Judah. For she bore a son, Maher-Shalal-Hash-Baz. Before this child could cry “My Father” and My Mother,” the riches of Damascus and the spoil Samaria will be taken away before the king of Assyria (Isaiah 8:3, NKJ).

Old Testament Prophetesses:
Noadiah Who is Noadiah and why is she considered to be a false prophetess? Noadiah means witness, ornament, of the Lord. She is only mentioned once in the Bible in Nehemiah 6:14. Nehemiah wrote “My God, remember Tobiah and Sanballat, according to these their works, and the prophetess Noadiah and the rest of the prophets who would have made me afraid” (Nehemiah 6:14, NKJ). The only thing we know about her is that she was part of a group who opposed Nehemiah when he wanted to rebuild Jerusalem which earlier had been destroyed by the Babylonians.
