Six Homemade Cleaning Supplies Using White Vinegar

Did you know that white vinegar has been around for years? Or that they have found traces of it in Egyptian urns that date from about 3,000 BC. White vinegar has many uses but in this article, the purpose is cleaning. White vinegar has the ability to dissolve mineral deposits from coffee makers to glass and to any smooth surface. The good thing about it is that it leaves little residue and has a pleasant odor. Some of the ways you can use it are to unclog drains, polish the silver, and remove wallpaper. I love using these homemade cleaners because they help the environment, are easy to make, and don’t have toxins or chemicals in them. They work great on my surfaces.

In this article, I list 6 different homemade cleaning recipes. The good thing about white vinegar is that it is cheap and is in most households.

1. DIY All-Purpose Cleaner

Give this a good shake before using. It is good on most surfaces, especially on counters and tubs. Before using on wood surfaces, test first. This cleanser leaves my counters clean and doesn’t leave any mess behind.

4. DIY Clean Toilet Bowl:

Ingredients:

2 cups white vinegar

toilet brush

Instructions:

Pour vinegar into the toilet bowl and let stand for about 5 minutes before brushing then flush. If you have hard water then stand for about an hour. Brush the toilet bowl then brush.

5. DIY Floor Cleaner:

Ingredients:

1/4 cup of white vinegar

1 pail of warm water

Instructions:

Put 1/4 cup of white vinegar in the bucket of warm water. Sweep the floor first. If the smell is too strong, open the windows or the door.

6. DIY All-purpose scrubber (for tile, tubs, and sinks)

Ingredients:

1/2 cup castile soap

1/2 cup water

1/4 cup of vinegar

Instructions:

Place all three ingredients in a spray bottle. Shake and clean.

These DIY cleaners are better than commercial cleaners because they save you money and the most important reason is that with DIY cleaners, you take out the chemicals and toxins that are bad for you. These DIY cleaners are equal to the commercial cleaners in the cleaning department.
