I Can Tell You My Secret Now
Note: This piece is about mental health awareness and the struggle many people face every single day. It is not meant as a diagnostic tool or to give any medical advice whatsoever. Every individual has their own story and their own treatment plan, so even if you see part of yourself in this piece, it's vital that you seek the help of a trained professional. It IS okay not to be okay.

Hungry for Change
It hasn't snowed much yet this year here in Michigan, where many children have a complex ritual of wearing their pajamas inside out, putting ice cubes in the toilet before bed, and something else that involves white crayons on the windowsill… just to increase the chance of a snow day and no school.

Embracing Cheugy
I was almost reconciled to being Basic. Depending on where you look Basic is almost generic. Unexciting. Plain. Unoriginal. Could mean naïve. Unsophisticated. The thing is, it’s been around for years now, since 2013, so I’m kind of used to it. Basic is practically a classic.

You Need to Bring a Treat TODAY?
You read all the flyers your child brings home. You check your email for a note from the PTA. Review the school calendar that is front and center on the refrigerator. You even riffle through the backpacks that slump just inside the front door. Whatever you do it just isn't enough.

"Please read, enjoy, heart, tip. Thanks."
In 10 months I have published 83 stories on Vocal. I belong to 23 Facebook groups for Vocal writers. One of them (The Vocal Creators Support Group) I started in April. I am active on about half of the groups, even the one that actually copied the 'About' section of my group and started their own, because I guess imitation is it's own form of a complement.
