I spent a lot of my formative years on the road. My father was in the military and when we were stationed all around the country (after I spent my early childhood in Japan). Going from place to place in our minivan was always the solution. We drove from Virginia to California with a pitstop in Washington to visit family on the way down. We drove up and down each coast and the one the that always remained the same was music. Music on the radio, music in my earphones from my bright yellow walkman and later on, my portable CD player. So many songs not only were the guidemaps to my childhood, and I can remember the places we were when I really felt them for the first time.

Luna
We never thought we'd ever make it this far. Humans should've died off as soon as the sun imploded, yet humanity still existed centuries later amidst frozen tundras & underwater facilities. The planet spun off course through space without the sun to keep it in orbit, and so the dim light of random moons and stars was all anyone earthside knew. Under the water, cities only knew artificial light.

Autism doesn't just exist in April
I'm autistic, and more often than not when I meet someone...I'm met with the statement, "You don't look autistic!" As if its some sort of compliment or praise I'm supposed to graciously accept. The normal person's knowledge of autism is limited, and often rather stereotyped.

Trash Panda
Jessica was awakened by another bump in the night. It was the third time that week, and she sat up to investigate what the ruckus was this time. She had her suspicions, a chubby raccoon who was getting into things in her garden one night. The next night? Same raccoon, different motive. It had found itself away into her trash cans but not a way out. She had no idea what tonight had in store for her, but if her instincts were correct, it was the same little trash panda with an ever expanding waist line.
