I'M A PRODUCT OF MY ENVIRONMENT
When you hear someone say," I'm a product of my environment" What do you think they are saying? Here's what I believe a person is saying when they state the above. A person is saying, I am who I am because of my environment, the people I hang around, the people I see daily, the food my parents prepared for me growing up, the things that happened to me over the years, and things I was forced to hear, say, do, and see in my life, molded me to be the person you see before you. So if you feel any kind of way about me, blame my surroundings. Typical right??? It's like the go-to cliché' to get out of finally being exposed to the truth about self, and hearing any good that can come out of bringing you out of self-pity. Been there, done that. lol.

Fresh Start
Let me just start off saying, Last year, 2020 took us all by surprise. No one expected the year to come in like a flood. Most people prepared for their New Year resolution in 2020 and the Pandemic was not one to make the list, Okay. Like, who would have thought a year could be so full of devastation, hurt, pain, and so depressing? Not me. I saw myself enjoying and vacationing with my family, going full force with promoting my Jewelry business. “Favored Jewels in Season” is the name of my business, by the way you could shop my site online at favoredjewelsinseason.com shop our Zi Collection it is like the best. So, what was I saying, lol oh yeah! Like 2020 was the worst and best all at the same time. It was the best year because it pushed me to be better than I was before. I made healthy life changes for myself, saved a little money, and started a new profession as a writer. Cool, right? The year 2020 brought out gifts and talents that were lying dormant for years in me. I certainly believe that we are long due for a refresher after all the chaos. I am not going to say that I have a New Year resolution to stick to this year, However, I will say that I’m coming into the New Year with a mindset to just go with the flow, to take it one day at a time. I believe that whatever your dreams and passions are, work hard at it, and pray over everything. This year in 2021 I want what I do to be purposeful and meaningful. I do not want to just do things, just to be doing it. Resolutions get sucked up in life’s unknown and many circumstances that can occur at any moment. So why create resolutions when we can just live out our sole purpose and run the race of endurance? My fresh start will be for me to take it one day at a time, not to be so hard on myself, choosing not to compete with anyone, but focusing on what I was originally born to do. I am a creative and creatives create right? We believe our gifts will make room for us. Everyone has a place where they fit in this life, but it is up to self to find out where that is. Who knows all that the New Year will bring? However, we must strive to make the best of it. Hey, I say, “Get into it”. Live, Laugh, Love again and just be happy. Do not allow people to steal your joy. We choose our own happiness. Yes, of course, we will face some troublesome times ahead, but trouble does not last always. Get up, dust yourself off, and keep running the race. So, this year, I reiterate I am moving at a steady pace, not too fast and not too slow. Remember the story about, “The Tortoise and The Hare”? This story is an Aesop fable story. The story was based on two opponents with unequal abilities to win a race. However, although the tortoise was slow in speed and the hare was fast in speed it did not stop the tortoise from winning the race. The Hare was over- confident about winning the race because he looked at his opponent in arrogance. The Hare was so confident that he would win, he decided to take a nap lol. Wrong move, right? Finally, the hare awakes and saw that he slept longer than he expected, he started to run toward the finish line, but it was too late the tortoise had won the race. So, the moral of the story is do not be over-confident and prideful in your abilities humble yourself. Slow and steady wins the race. You may not go at the speed as others, just run the race at your own speed. Be yourself and finish the year strong. That is what my fresh start will look like. Well, Happy New Year!
