Baking Icelandic & Finnish Breads
Cooking may not be a resolution for someone in the new year, but these recipes are sure to get friends interested in Nordic culture and cuisine. In Iceland, barkers bury pots of rúgbrauð on top of geothermal pools full of water and return the next day to take out the bread and serve it with smoked cheese and fish.

The Puppy Test
Puppies are some of the cutest animals on the planet. They also are a great way to get used to working with children or having children in your life. It is a simple test my parents mentioned to me. If you are thinking of children, get a puppy and see where to go from there. They are a great start for some of the basic needs for learning how to raise children.

A Calico Named Lizzy
I was thirteen and my sister was eleven when we went to the ASCPA in Florida with our mother to pick out a cat of our own. I didn't want to get one at first because I wanted a dog. After never getting a chance to say goodbye to my golden retriever, Beauregard, I wanted a dog that I could raise with the help of my parents of course. "You can get a dog when you can afford the vet bills," my mother said to me.

Literature Books That Should Be Read in Schools
I started reading books when I was four. My education was entrusted fairly young by grandparents who taught me and my sister basic math, reading, and writing skills to do well in school. Of course, needless to say, we were both compatible in intellect until I stopped doing my eighth grade homework. My sister excels in the rational and logical world, while I am rational but emotional due to my interests in the arts and literature.

Best Restaurants in St. Augustine
Saint Augustine is a very tiny town. It was once a hub for train riders in the height of the 20th century. Yet, there are some things in the local town that most people overlook. There may be great quality restaurants, but sometimes, you just need to look in the nooks and corners of the city to find the best places to go.

My First New York Trip
I have never been to New York in my entire life. I know it is a big city, a blended city of cultures, sights, and smells. But being able to go to New York was an interesting opportunity for me. It came with only one condition. I can explore the city, but I have to meet a couple of people in the process.

Why I Celebrate Non-Modern Customs
I was baptized under the Protestant branch of Methodism. I went to church, did communion a couple of times, and attended every Easter and Christmas service. My mother told me and my sister whenever we get married, she will let us borrow her white wedding dress. She also said boyfriends who are potential suitors for husbandry must ask permission first and get us a diamond ring. But the one thing that kept bothering me was there was no explanation as to why we celebrate these holidays when we don't know where they originally came from. Why are we supposed to wear white when no other culture uses white? Why am I, or my sister for that matter, supposed to have a diamond ring when we think they are really useless and tacky?
